Happy New Year all! I had a good night streaming last night, with quite a few subs, so will definitely get a payout mid January of about £100. A nice little boost to the mortgage overpayment. I did finish the game I was playing early, so got into bed and watched TV with DH, but fell asleep before midnight 🤣 Was quite a broken night of sleep though, was woken up a great times with the wind and people being loud on their way home, but we don't have any thing to do today so might have a nap later.
Had a very blowy walk with the dogs this morning but it was nice to blow the cobwebs away. We're having a treat of pancakes for breakfast this morning and then a nice chill day before returning to work tomorrow. Might make an overpayment to the mortgage as a New Year's Day treat!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks MerryHen and the same to you x
Well, I made an op to the mortgage of £129.68 so it is now £23,600. That will probably be the last one until payday now on the last day of the month, Friday 31st January 😱 (We all know January feels like a lifetime!)
I have been quite productive today, I have written birthdays on to my 2025 calendar and then wrote out a majority of the birthday cards, so they're all ready to go when needed (I bought a pack of 20 birthday cards with a few different designs from amazon as it will work out cheaper than individual ones). DH was very bemused with this, but a work colleague told me she does it at the beginning of every year and I thought it sounded a good idea. I'm also less likely to forget to buy one!
I then had to do an emergency repair on one of Dog 2's toys, a cuddly sloth that he'd decided to rip the arm off. These so called indestructible toys really aren't upto scratch with Dog 2 🤣Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Hi Jess, I haven't got the time to read entire diary right now but I want to. I may have some time later, but what I have read it sounds like you are an inspiration with getting the Mortgage OPs done, which of course is what this is all about, but you are really on fire with it, well done. Glad to hear that horrid bully has gone. All the best for 2025 and your goalsXX3

I've been planning to do the same with birthday cards, need to double check what ones I currently have stowed away!"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

@CrazyBee787 Aww, thank you! Although I wouldn't recommend reading it all, there's a lot of rambling 🤣
@debtfreeoneday Thanks, I'm really pleased with it considering it's only a few hours a week, it adds up nicely 🙂
@VintageHistorian Oh nice, it does seem like a good plan to be organised with birthdays. We'll see how it goes!
Well, first day back at work done and a cleaning job after. We've then had a quick pizza for tea and can now chill out for the evening. I've got a new book to start reading so I'll settle down with that shortly. Trying to reduce screen time on my phone and the TV so I'll be reading more.
Majority of the bills have gone out. We have the dentist tomorrow and then my hair cutting next week, so definitely won't be any more ops until payday ☹️Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

How do you find audio books? When do you tend to listen to them? I've tried a couple and enjoyed them, but struggle to find the quiet time to listen to them and if I listened to them in bed, I think I'd fall asleep 🤣Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
