Finally it's Friday and the last day of work!
I'm sat in the office with nothing to do, but we're not allowed to leave until 4pm, so might as well post in my diary and catch up with everyone else's.
We've been paid today and I have overpaid £1k to the mortgage, so the new balance is £23,850! Woohoo! If I carry on like this, by Spring I will be under £20k and into the teens, then all paid off by the time I turn 40 in June 2026, which was always my ideal goal. This has given a nice boost to my motivation, maybe i can do it before then! 🤣
Done a lot of packing for our Christmas holiday tomorrow and got the gate and key codes from the owner. Can't wait to wrap up and have walks of the beach.
Have a lovely Friday all! XMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.

Thanks all ❤️
@slm6002 we're in Kessingland, as DH's family are from Lowestoft 🙂
We arrived safely and got into the holiday chalet. Its basic and could do with some tlc but it's fine for us for a week. We can also see the sea from the French doors in the living room, so that's nice. We've had several walks on the beach already and the dogs are loving it!
I cooked us brunch before we left yesterday and then had a lovely pizza hut treat for tea last night. Stepson has come to stay with us for a few day as well, so it's nice we, and especially DH gets to spend some time with him. He is 17 now and turns 18 in March, so is off doing his own thing, has school and work, so he's not really interested in coming to stay with us anymore.
I've cooked a curry for dinner today as stepson is going to work 4pm-8pm so wanted to fill him up before he goes. Me and DH will have left over pizza for our tea.
Tomorrow we're planning a walk around Dunwich Forest as the weather is looking dry.
The view from the living room window doors (although the glass could do with a good clean, can't seem to switch off the cleaner in me 🤣)
