Thanks NG 🙂
We had a nice walk out and then I made a quorn roast with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and some green beans from a work colleagues garden, which were super yummy! DH said it was the best roast ever (I think he's just being super nice with the whole breast lump business going on 🤣)
I took this afternoon off work I was worried about the dogs with the temperature getting up to 32°c, but it hasn't been too bad as there has been a nice breeze and a bit of cloud coverage which has helped. I did some surveys while at home and cashed out a £5 Amazon voucher from one place.
I did go out and do a cleaning job at 5pm and my gosh, I don't think I have ever sweat so much in my life! I very nearly melted like the Wicked Witch of the West 🤣 £15 in my pocket though and every little helps.
After that and a very cold shower, I wasn't overly hungry so made a tortilla pizza for tea.i do think it's time for an ice lolly now though 🍭Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Well, the rest of the week seemed to drag quite a bit and I was feeling very fed up yesterday. I think it's because my hospital appointment is coming up on Monday and I just want it done with. I've booked Monday off work because usually I enter the previous weeks timesheets onto our accounts system for the guys in the factory and don't think that would be a good idea with the appointment on my mind, especially as pay day is coming up soon!
Today was very busy with cleaning jobs but it was £55 in my pocket so cannot complain. I did have a nice cold shower when I got home, some dinner, followed by an afternoon nap. I cooked some cheesy pasta (made a sauce from cream cheese and milk) and garlic bread for tea. I then made an op to the mortgage from my cleaning money and some extra in my account so the new balance is £29,600. Now just got to get to payday and I can take another £1k off! I'm literally throwing all the money I can at it at the moment. I'm getting desperate to move now because our lack of a garden is really starting to get me down, especially after going to other people's houses and thinking 'this sort of house would be perfect for us!'. I know we'll get there, my patience is just wearing very thin 🤣
DH will be finished paying off the car soon, so that means he will have extra money to save towards a deposit. DSS then turns 18 in March next year, so he will no longer have to pay child maintenance for him. Very proud of DSS at the moment, he got himself a little part time job at morrisons and has been paying for his driving lessons, he also saved himself enough to buy himself a little car this week! He just needs to pass his test now, which he is booked in for next month, crossing my fingers and toes for him! I sent him some money to fill up his car as a well done after he bought it and he then replied with a thank you and a photo of his dashboard showing a full tank 🤣
Since me and DH have been together, whenever he came to stay we would be very honest with him about money and how hard it can be to manage. He often asks how I'm getting on with paying off the mortgage, so I show him how much interest I've saved, so I'm hoping these chats helped him to decide to save his money and buy his little car and get the freedom and independence that comes with it.
Tomorrow we have booked the enclosed dog field nearby, so the dogs can have a good run and play for an hour. Then we might have a trip to the garden center that's near it for a coffee and a bit of cake.
Have a good weekend xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Sounds like DSS has absorbed some excellent habits, what a responsible sounding young man 😊
Excellent overpayments there, so impressed with you taking on your extra cleaning work, it only seems 5 minutes that you were talking about it 😊 Not surprised you just want everything over and done with at the hospital. All fingers and toes crossed for you. And not surprised you're getting impatient with the house too. You are SO close though, so pleased for you to see that mortgage tumbling down 😊😊2 -

Thanks cheery and hetty and everyone for the kind comments. I'm happy to report that the lump has turned out to be glandular tissue and nothing sinister! 😃 I am so relieved and even had a little cry when DH got me back in the car. Even though the appointment was pushed back, I have to say the doctors and nurses were absolutely brilliant and we were only there just over an hour. I got my results straight away, which I am so glad because I don't think I could've waited for a letter to come! Now having pizza and wine to celebrate xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
