That looks like a lovely day out!
And well done on the mortgage!

Thanks cheery! 🙂
Back at work yesterday and then a cleaning job after, was blooming knackered! DH cooked us a beige tea (fake chicken nuggets, wedges, onion rings and spaghetti hoops 🤣) because the cupboards were bare and we had to use some stuff up from the freezer ready for the shopping to be delivered tonight.
Today I gave a training session at work, which I was a bit anxious about. It went well though and turns out I'm the only person out of a group of leaders that has to give training, to actually do it, so hopefully that will give me a few brownie points!
Shopping has been delivered and we've had a treat of a veggie pizza for tea. Now we're all stocked up, we'll have salad wraps for dinner tomorrow and stir fry for tea.
I'm dying to pay a little more off the mortgage but should really wait until towards the end of the month when all the bills have gone out and there's no surprises. I just love seeing that mortgage figure going down though!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I couldn't wait! 🤣 I had a bit of a run in with horrid work lady on Friday when she made a snide remark, I snapped straight back at her because I'm not taking any of her nonsense anymore but it played on my mind the rest of the day, so by the time I came home, I needed something to cheer me up. The mortgage was at an annoying amount of £28,498.08 so I paid the £98.08 to bring it down to the nice round amount of £28,400 🙂
Yesterday morning I had a cleaning job, so that was £20 in my pocket. I went to see my parents in the afternoon and my mum had bought me a veggie moussaka from m&s, which is one of my favourite things, so we had that for tea. My dad had seen beetroot and chickpea burgers on Masterchef and he'd had a crack at making some of those, so I came home with two. We've had them in a roll for dinner today and I have to say they were yummy! I've told him that he can make them again 🤣
We've been to one of the local garden centres today as the dogs need their worming tablets this week. We also bought a couple of treats for them and when we got to the till DH scanned his loyalty card and had £3.99 worth of points, which we decided to take off the total, so only £27 spent there. I did then treat myself to some crocus and snake head fritillary bulbs for my window box and a new pot for a cactus that has outgrown it's old one. They are all now planted and repotted and looking forward to seeing the results.
Nothing planned for the rest of today apart from some reading. My mum gives me her prima magazines when she's finished with them, so I have a few of those to get through and I have been reading books the past few weeks before bed which I have found is helping me sleep, so must keep it up!

Sunday afternoon I ended up doing some reading and then a niggly job that I've been putting off for several months, which was some touching up of two places in the house where the paint had started to peel where the wall ends and the ceiling begins. Not sure what had caused it as it was only in two places, one in the kitchen and the other in our bedroom. It was good to get them sanded and repainted though and it now looks a lot neater.
Yesterday was back to work and then a cleaning job after, which was £15 in my pocket. We're now halfway through the work week as we have Friday off and then the following Monday as it is our first wedding anniversary! I can't believe it has been a year already, bonkers! We're not doing gifts but I have bought a card for DH and we are going out for a meal Friday night. Saturday I'm hoping for a trip to the seaside and then we'll probably go to the cinema Monday to see the new Alien film.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks NG ❤️
Unfortunately, our weekend off isn't going to plan. Friday we had a lovely chill day and went out for a really nice meal in the evening, very yummy. Saturday morning I felt a little under the weather, nothing to do with the meal the night before but more like I was coming down with a cold, so in the afternoon I decided to get a hot water bottle. Took hot water bottle to bed where it then split and leaked hot water on me. Luckily there was a cover on it and I was clothed, so it's not as bad as it could have been but I have been scalded down my right side. I threw off my clothes and jumped straight into a cool shower, I then wrapped myself in cling film and a few hours after that we put dressings over the burns. I've been to a&e this morning, where I've been cleaned up and rebandaged with special burn dressings and I have to go back Wednesday to have them changed and make sure there's no infection (saw a lovely nurse and doctor, thank you NHS!) Luckily the pain has subsided but feeling down and have that 'why is the world against me' feeling but at the same time grateful that it wasn't worse. So if you have a hot water bottle please check for stamps on it to make sure it is still OK to be used, check for any cracks that could split and replace it regularly!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Oh Jessy you poor thing! You've definitely been through the ringer recently!
Will go check my hot water bottle this afternoon. Started using it the other night, but don't want burnt feet!"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.
