Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the support. I didn't tell a lot of people what was going on because I didn't want to needlessly worry anyone, so it's been really helpful to share on here and thanks again for the kind comments ❤️
SC is right though, back to that pesky mortgage! Usually I would have done one of my weekly cleaning jobs today but with being at the hospital I swapped it to tomorrow instead, so it's back to the office and then cleaning after, with a dog walk in between.
The shopping is also coming tomorrow evening, so will cook something quick once that has arrived, probably some quorn burgers.
I did have quite a productive day before my appointment, cleaning the house, sewing up a hole in one of Dog 2s favourite toys, which is starting to look like Frankensteins monster and read a couple of magazines that my mum had passed on to me. I am pretty shattered now though, so going to have an early night, read a bit of my book and crash! 😴Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Great news Jessy! And also a reminder of why one should still go to the doctor even if convinced it's "just nothing" - if you hadn't gone and been referred then the worry would still be sitting on you! Thanks everyone! ❤️ it's a huge relief and I have slept a lot better the past few nights.
Me and DH have booked today off work to enjoy a 4 day weekend with the Bank Holiday Monday. We were planning a trip to the seaside, but with it being so windy, we've decided to go Sunday instead. We've just had a nice steady morning so far and then will probably pop upto the range. We need a new bath mat, as ours is a bit worn (we've had it since we moved in 5 years ago, we've replaced towels since then but never the bath mat) and we could do with some replacement filters for the cooker hood (again we have never actually replaced this since we moved in and it's recommended every few months 😱)
The side of the house could also do with a second coat of paint as well, so hopefully the wind will die down later and we can get that done too.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Hi Jessy, have just caught up on the past few months 😅 so glad to hear the tests came back okay, what a relief for you.

Hope you have a lovely time @MerryHen!
We didn't end up going to the seaside, it was far too windy Friday and we figured the seaside would be even worse. When it's that windy we don't like to let the dogs off lead in case they can't hear us calling them and they have selective hearing at the best of times 🤣 We did go to the range and get a new bath mat though and it's very soft and fluffy. It was £10, so that'll do us nicely for another 5 years!
Saturday we went out for breakfast with my parents at a local garden centre. It was their treat as a celebration of me being all clear, which was very nice. I then cleaned for my grandad after, who gave me some very yummy tomatoes from a friend's garden, as they couldn't get through them all. The rest of the day was a bit of a washout so I spent it reading a book.
Sunday, we painted the external side of the house. It was it's second coat, so it's all dome now, apart from a couple of small missed spots which I will go over during the week. Streaming after that and earnt a few pounds, so should have a payout coming in September.
Today, we went out for a nice walk with the dogs around the woods and then a lazy afternoon. Not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but it is only a 4 day week and payday is at the end of it. Just need to make it through and then another £1k can come off the mortgage!
Have a good week all xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Made it through the week and to payment day on Friday, woohoo!
I paid £1027.71 off the mortgage and it is now £28,700 🙂 Once the usual DD has come off I will make another small op to round it down. It will be under £25k by the end of the year. Maybe I could possibly, it's not likely, but it would be super nice if I could get under £20k by the end of the year but it would be pushing it, quite a lot!
We had a lovely day yesterday at a Whippet Meet Up. 32 dogs, mostly whippets and a few other breeds and we raised £125 for a whippet rescue charity.
This morning I have done 2 cleaning jobs, so that's £35 in my pocket, which was nice after paying for the boiler service this week, which was £85. Unfortunately, we do need a new towel rail in the bathroom, as ours is rusted. Before we moved in we dont think the house was ever ventilated, all the trickle vents were closed and we never saw any windows open, so it was in bad shape when we moved in and as much as we try to keep it clean, the damage has already been done, so that's going to be a couple hundred pounds to get it replaced 😔 The joys of owning a house!
Time for a little rest before streaming later to make a few extra pounds!
