  • Just had a read though your diary and have to say how well you have coped with all the changes in your life and are so focused on overpaying your mortgage. It is a shame that you don't enjoy your work and you are doing the right thing in looking out for something else but it may take a bit longer than you imagine for another suitable job to come along, so try to think of ways of making this job as bearable as possible in the meantime. Think of all the positives, being so close to home, a decent salary, nice people to work with. There is never going to be the perfect job so you have to weigh up what is most important to you. Would a long journey not cause you as much stress as you are feeling just now. You need to be clear in your mind what is most important to you and what you are willing to compromise on. As for the school job, I would second what someone else has said, it is almost certain that someone has been doing the job temporarily and was probably lined up for it. That is the way it works in schools in my experience so I wouldn't take it personally. I am sure something will come up eventually and in the meantime just enjoy all the benefits and focus on the good things.

Aw Jessy I'm so sorry about the job :( please don't be disheartened, it may be as simple as someone else just having 6 months more experience than you. Can you drop them an email asking for feedback?

As for whether to keep looking - why not? Applying is good practice, your CV will just get better and better as you go along and eventually you WILL be offered something else! Xx

Thank you Moneywhizz, for reading my diary and the kind words. I am trying my best to be positive and I'm trying not to let things get to me as much (easier said than done but I am trying!). You are right, travelling would just replace the stress that I feel already and as my mum says, if it's meant to be, it will be! x

Thanks cheery, I did wonder about emailing them for feedback but I chickened out! I am still going to apply for jobs but not just anything, I'm going to think it through carefully and do the pros and cons first. Thank you for the support, I really appreciate it x
