Well done Gettingtherequickly :T Tete en l'air :T and TheTalkingDead :T on SOTW
*SOTW is the person who lost most this week who also lost or maintained last week.
Wow, wasn't expecting that! Thanks Chris and well done to GTQ and TTD too!
Alas, I have to report a 1lb gain this week. My grandma has been in hospital and I've been running around like a loon, forgetting my packed lunch and so on. She's out now so hopefully things will calm down and I can get back on track.
Sounds like I'm not the only one having a rough time, is it because there was a full moon this week? Hugs to all!sarymclary wrote: »If it's any consolation pringles have that notorious nasty chemical in them that if you set them alight they burn with a blue flameand contain Acrylamide, which is said to be cancer causing. Wow that's a bit horrifying! I love Pringles as well but that will certainly make me think twice.
Right, I'm off to [STRIKE]make hay[/STRIKE] do some weeding while the sun shines!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

It's frustrating getting a gain when you're not really expecting it but if it's gone on quick it'll come back off just as quickly!
Have been getting stuff ready for BBQ this afternoon with family so it's been a busy morning as also had to go shopping first thing. Only thing I've got left to make is a mixed salad.
Today's plan:
B - boiled eggs and asparagus to dip
L - smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel (HEB + 1)
D - BBQ - pork ribs with syn free BBQ sauce (3.5), burgers (1), sausages (1), chicken, vegetables. Have also made a tuna & sweetcorn pasta salad (which I probably won't have any of but as I used LTL mayo probably only 1/2 syn a portion), remoulade (grated celeriac, grainy mustard & LTL mayo (again only 1/2 syn a portion). Mixed salad with HM syn free dressing. Have also got some gammon steaks if anyone is still hungry!!!
HEA - milk
HEB - bagel
Syns - pork rib (50g) 3.5, burger 1, sausage 1, mayo in salads 1, couple glasses of white wine 10

WI in this morning after a week all inclusive holiday in Spain and I gained just half a pound! I am ecstatic! Breakfast was easy as there was a Healthy Corner with fat free yoghourts, cereal and skimmed milk, melon, kiwi, pineapple etc. A couple of days I had baked beans and scrambled egg with lovely grilled tomatoes but avoided bacon and sausages and toast.
lunch was easy ... tons of salad, grilled fish and meat and more fruit.
Evening meal likewise and plenty of it. I did have a very small dessert in two evenings.
however, I did have LOADS of alcoholic drinks which I wouldn’t normally have at home.
We walked loads though so I expect that helped.
I am really happy that I have still lost 1 and a half stones!0 -
Just back from local scouts afternoon tea, I didn't actually do too badly as only had fruit this morning so had tiny cheese sandwiches for tea, so didn't massively over syn with scones and chose not to have any other cake. But I have to share the funniest thing I have heard for a while. Was speaking to Akela and she was saying that she had been in charge of the vegan sandwiches, all good as she was focussed on no dairy, it was only when she had finished that she realised she had been concentrating so much on not using dairy that she didn't realise that she had used ham! Best laid plans and all thatA smile costs little but creates much0

Hello All!
Sunshinemummy I could not invite someone and not cook for them, unless it was a close friend. I'm sure it won't be too arduous (the pressure cooker does most of the work).
Denise when you cook wine the alcohol evaporates and in any case it's just a splash, ain't synnin'it :rotfl:
're. Fruit salad topping n sainsbugs I found Yeo Valley organic 0% creme fraiche at 1/2 syn per tbsp, hope it's nice! The men get the full fat stuff.
Today I'm slightly over (16 1/2) because I had a couple of Nairns choc chip oat biscuits at 2 each, as well as my usual oil, full fat yogurt and the 1/2 is 3 olives chopped in my pasta.
Have a good weekend everybody
.Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Evening all
Weather has been quite lovely today, and what a relief that is, given how much we’ve had locally in Lincolnshire.
Back is ok, but not better yet. Unfortunately the meds I have make me feel nauseous despite taking an ant-acid with them. Nonetheless I’ve managed to eat.
Meal plan:
B - banana, apricot, peach, 0% yogurt & sugar free banana choc chocshot
L - bacon salad sandwich HEB +(6) ketchup (1)
D - cottage pie: lean mince & quorn mince, carrots, tinned toms, onions, peppers, beans & mash (1 for olive spread in mash)
HEA - milk in tea/coffee
No snacks today
Watched a video online today about the principle of switching between days of lower carb and higher carb as a means of tricking your metabolism into thinking it has to stay higher. Not sure of the medical basis, apparently thereve been several studies. It’s specifically meant for endomorph body types (overweight) who have evolved to pack on fat in anticipation of lean times (think Neanderthal man eating plenty before a lean winter and relying on reserves). It mentioned how after initial
Good weight loss you plateau and struggle
to get further losses easily, and it made me think it’s like switching between SP days and ordinary SW plan days, so may adopt that if I can meal plan appropriately in the future. It also recommended HIIT fitness as opposed to lengthy cardio, which is probably more achievable at 10mins 3 x a week. I definitely feel like I have plateaued this past couple of months.
What works for you if you stop losing for weeks on end despite sticking to plan, especially if you still have a way to go (like 2 stones or more!)?One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
