Difficult to know but no one seems to be seriously trying to find out personally I'd be happy with some form of customs union, I know many hardline brexiters would be opposed to that but I suspect not all.

I feel we are stranded within the intersection due to the internal bickering, Parliament. Many opinions have been offered about how Brexit will present but what is clear is that being stalled in the cross roads is not a good place to be.

We are not an underdeveloped country. How much greater would our prosperity be if we did not import and consume rather we looked after ourselves?

Germany is not the only country that can build cars, or machinery. Our prowess in these areas can be re-established but we need to consider that we are not just a consumer or service industry country and we should aspire to greater self sufficiency for; food, fuels, materials, shipping, motor vehicles, aerospace, trains and many more.

True, but we've never really managed to leave the "What do you actually want?" stage. That's why we need to go back to the people with some ideas and ask what they want.

If the eu had not said we had to sort out the divorce agreement before even thinking about a trade agreement then things would have been very different. Sorting out the trade agreement means sorting out NI.

We should have just insisted on doing it that way, but I very much doubt that they would have agreed to it, it is way way too sensible for them.

I don't mind a customs agreement until we have sorted out the trade deal, but it should NOT stop us making our own deals, that is once again the eu trying to stop us flourishing, which is what they are really terrified of.

My preference is to hold another referendum with narrower choices on the ballot this time which has been what May says will happen if she cannot get a compromise with Labour and no consensus in Parliament. She has always rejected a second peoples vote but she has no where left to go. That way at least it will be clear what people want but as Brexiteers say it will split their vote between leave with a customs union deal of some sort presumably or leave with no deal so the chances are the remainers would have it.

A GE would not necessarily make things more clear even if we voted for candidates who take a particular viewpoint on Brexit but a GE should be about much more than Brexit. My view is that this has been a total irrelevance over the last three or four years.

Why? I'm not sure anyone thinks Mays deal is a good idea. It gives us the worst of both worlds and doesn't solve any of the issues. It's an epic can kicking exercise

It'd be much better to go full WTO, send the cabinet to Brussels and remove their passports until it's sorted out.

Of the 52% who wanted to leave (not me as I am a remainer) there were various scenarios they wanted and some seemed to have voted out for totally different reasons other than actually leaving the EU :mad:. It follows therefore that a percentage of the 52% are not going to be happy with the type of Brexit our parliament can deliver. I think parliament will continue voting it down until we either have another GE which might make things clearer or we hold another referendum. In the meantime mps are focusing on this instead of really important things like our economy, health service, public services and education.

In that case the recent council elections will just be the start of the public ripping up the political menu IMO.
