Will Brexit happen?

It not clear why that’s a bad thing and neither do I understand why that would be the case.
We are one country out of 28.
I didn’t say it was necessarily a bad thing.
I’m repeatedly told that we can veto the things we don’t like. What Future UK govt is going to authorise the handing over of more sovereignty to the EU?
I don’t see any benefit for either us or the EU in revoking article 50.0 -
I believe there is a push for more majority voting and reduced use of veto
QMV already exists in some areas but not the big ones, like EU Army, New Members, etc.
That can only happen if we choose to allow it.
The veto in those areas cannot be taken away without us voting for it to be taken away.there is no guarantee that won't happen.
There is a guarantee it won't happen.
It's enshrined in EU law and treaty and that cannot be changed other than by unanimity. If we remain in with parliament as is I would not be surprised if they caved into pressure to reduce use of veto.
Then elect a UK parliament that won't cave.
Simples.parliament should not have voted for referendum especially when you consider how bad they think leaving will be for country
True.but they did and as you say the damage has been done.
All the damage has not been done - yet - as we have not left.
We can still avert most of the damage by choosing not to leave.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Under current Lib Lab Con, Brexit won’t happen.
Whether Brexit party changes the equation and/or LabCon split that is a different scenario. A hard Brexit is likely then.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

Most of the damage has already been done.
The country has been split into being Leavers or Remainers & the whole exercise has been exacerbated by sections of the Media who have been labelling people as Traitors, Enemies of the People & signalling the death of democracy.
All over a subject that no-one really cared about until Cameron tried to shut up a few extremists. And before I get a load of people denying this, I challenge them to point me to any post they made pre 2015 calling for leaving the EU.0 -

You assume that all remain voters are not prepared to compromise which I don't believe. I voted remain but accept we have to leave and am prepared to accept a reasonable compromise and I don't think I'm that unusual.
It is possible to accept a outcome that is not ideal in your opinion that's the meaning of compromise, I believe that vocal minorities are clouding the situation.
What compromise do you see that'll gain the support of a majority (50% +1 voter)?0 -

I don't think it will happen. There is no political appetite for it but they do not want to appear to mock the population by ignoring a supposed democratic vote. I use the word supposed on the grounds that the Leave campaign have now been proved to have lied and broken rules on campaigning.
Of the 52% who wanted to leave (not me as I am a remainer) there were various scenarios they wanted and some seemed to have voted out for totally different reasons other than actually leaving the EU . It follows therefore that a percentage of the 52% are not going to be happy with the type of Brexit our parliament can deliver. I think parliament will continue voting it down until we either have another GE which might make things clearer or we hold another referendum. In the meantime mps are focusing on this instead of really important things like our economy, health service, public services and education.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Certainly lacks support. At home Macron doesn't command any level of support either at the current time. A fractured EU headed by minority National Leaders isn't the time to drive through reform. More an ideal time to address the same issues that the UK found unpalatable. One senses a crossroads is being approached.1 -

Rather than vote for a political party in England. Will the choice be for a candidate that's out, in or don't mind. Be a mess of a coalition to run the country effectively.0
