Stayed overnight at mum's. I had to go to the doctor's after 4 pm to pick up my repeat prescription and the paperwork for mum's referral back to audiology, but wanted to get on with the paperwork which has been stagnating in a couple of bags for life (put everything on hold for last week's funeral).

Couldn't make mum's appointment on line for her preferred venue so will have to wait until Monday. Booked a small break for Twixmas but booking office was closed for booking the 'Hot Ice Show' (mum's choices, keep telling myself to be open to new experiences).

Have a pile of my paperwork (part way through completing last year's accounts, waiting to see if more invoices fall out of the rest of the pile - I know I have two very faint ones that I have rescued multiple times this year, always write Business and the relevant year at the top).

Smaller pile of mum stuff (because I filed everything I could in her file box after doing the Attendance Allowance paperwork). Pile to throw away and aggravating pile (mostly small pieces of paper from old notebooks and diaries, kept because they have addresses/ website info and passwords and I haven't worked out an easy way of transferring them). I was keeping the old diary ones tucked in the back of the new diary but they kept falling out (need to get busy with scissors, tape and an old plastic pouch to make mini ones).

Despite having about 6 notebooks with me, I haven't yet seen the new address book. Not going to panic because I am working my way through the bags rather than pulling a huge pile out. If it's important, I've saved it, just need to get all the important bits to where they need to be (mum's tax return/ my tax return/ my appointments in order etc.).

Did some work on mum's shed but she didn't have an extension reel and I couldn't make a chain of extension bars long enough to use my drill in the shed (could have found more but not in the mood to try moving mum's bed or a chest of drawers, unplugging things then having to reset things afterwards).

Today I am grateful for pleasant weather (lovely yesterday after a miserable start), for making progress and mum's shower.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Rainy old day over here in Le' Shire.
If it continues I will not make it to the Canal festival I had planned in the fun and frolics section of my diary.

Totally lost count of spend days but came in under budget for last week so it doesn't really make much difference.

This time next week will be half term (yay!).
    Gratitudes:
Nick Abbot making me laugh in bed
    Seedlings starting to look plant-y
    budget resetting day
the wonderful world that is inside my head

So have been good this week. I don't seem to get many NSD in but I do manage a lot better now with the money I have and I have stopped myself from buying so much over the past few weeks. Since my dad has taken my cards I actually feel a bit more free if that makes sense? I don't have to worry about my accounts because I know I have enough money in there for all my bills and I check them a couple of days a week and update my spreadsheet.

Spent some time yesterday with family for my dads birthday which was really nice. Manged to save some money off my meal by dropping a course and having tap water instead of a drink so saved on my bill there :D

Where has the sunshine gone? Rained heavily all night and has been on and off all day. Nevertheless went for a walk and picked up vegetables for next week.

I've made a huge curry which is in the slow cooker. Dinner for tomorrow and lots to freeze. I don't know if the Boy is coming for dinner or not. He's went to London yesterday for a concert and he may or not be back in time.. His first time there and he is loving it. The concert is tonight and he's been everywhere today. I've had a constant flow of photos. I think he's now got his Mother's travelling bug.

So today I've done a few things that I really needed to do. A bit of cleaning.

Ordered the Tesco delivery to the holiday apartment. This is one of the things that really stresses me. Don't know why but it just does. I'm getting better at it every time I do it though. This time I've ordered fruit and veg and I actually have a bit of a meal plan so I've bought some things that I know I'll need but which will be expensive if I have to by them locally. There is a brilliant butcher there (very reasonably priced too) so I know what meat I can get and plan around that. I'm also taking some things from stores which are light enough to put in our luggage. I have lots of nice teas and coffee and loads of things like stock cubes.

Finished another book. The ones that I have been reading lately have been set in Germany following the second world war. It was awful how little these people (and people all over the world) had to survive on. We never want to go back to that again (although it still exists in third world countries). It's made me realise what a materialistic, throw away society we live in. I'll be thinking twice before I waste anything now. Sorry, that was a bit of a gloomy observation.

So, Himself is watching the footie and I'm just about to make dinner. Fish from the freezer with roasted vegetables.

    Today I am grateful for;

The Boy having such a good time. A few years ago he would never have been able to even think about doing something like this.
Himself - the loveliest person ever
Having more than enough to eat and everything I need. I really need to count my blessings.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Today I am grateful for a quiet day, for planting some stuff out with dd, for my workout, for getting stuck into our library books, for sausages and mash to look forward to for tea, for finishing off 5 craft projects that had been sat there looking accusingly at me as I tried to ignore them.
