    Hello everyone,

Make a budget and stick to it Done my dad gives me a set amount each week.

Enjoy the month Went for a lovely walk with a friend, her little girl, dog and my little boy on Thursday. We walked the whole length of the village and back again. DS walked the whole way! It was so nice to get out and enjoy the day.

Read Unless you count FB I haven't been doing much reading.

Reduce, reduce and reduce some more - So far this month have reduced almost £1400 off my debt!! £1000 from depost from old house £300 regular payments and £60 odd from sky refund and covering another shift. Still trying to reduce waste.

Increase, increase and increase even more -

Move it - lovely walk with on Thursday :)

    Post 3 gratitudes every day

    1. Feeling good about helping a friend move.
    2. Friend making me lunch and giving me some utensils I needed for kitchen.
    3. Massive cuddles from DS when he got home.
    May 04
    1. Being indoors and not out in the horrible weather today.
    2. Cookies I got on lunch break were still warm and so yummy!
    3. Lip balm! (I have managed to split my lip and it's only thing soothing it atm)

No! Stupidly didn't check date on ham at home so no salad for me today and no food in so had to get a meal deal grrrrr.

Shrewbie - the brand I have is the moon cup :) it was recommended to me by my SIL as she always struggled with tampons and things so I tried it and not looked back! It doesn't even feel like aunt flo is visiting if you know what I mean haha.

I had lots of plans when I heard the church bells chiming at 7.00 this morning. Just five minuted more, I thought. Woke up at 10.40. Oh well. shopping will just have to wait until tomorrow.

I've just done a huge ironing. The Boy did do some washing whilst I was away but I don't think he's quite got his head around ironing yet. He cannot possibly have anything else that needs done.

I've made a spicy chicken casserole for dinner using chicken thighs and veg (onions, pepper and garlic) from the freezer. Himself froze them before we went on holiday. Normally I would give any veg to a neighbour to use but there was no one about so he decided into the freezer they would go. It seems to have worked. Bubbling gently in the slow cooker.

We've booked our hotels for our holiday next January to get the best deals. We don't have to pay until we get there and they can be cancelled for free if I find a better deal. I don't think I will though. They are nice hotels and cheap compared to going in the high season.

Getting on well with the book and have downloaded a few more using he Kindle Unlimited.

    Today I'm grateful for:
Finishing the ironing (I was flagging!!!)
    Booking the hotels
A tasty looking dinner that probably cost very little to make.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Hi everyone; good to read how everyone is doing :)
    Here's my update for today:

Budget - bought some beef to make beef bourginon as I have some spare red wine! I like wine but only me that drinks it so I shall have one glass and use the rest for cooking. Wine was a present and i'll get about 5 portions out of the recipe so not too expensive per head. Also did a shop at Mr T but stuck to my list.

Enjoy the month. Will try not to let work get to me. Definitely enjoying the long weekend :)

    Read. Reading every day .

Reduce, reduce and reduce some more. No Facebook. B and L from stores.

Increase, increase and increase even more. Increase walking - done 10k+ steps today.

    Move it! Have done!

Things I am grateful for today: a walk with DD1's best friend as both my DDs not available!; a lie in this morning; technology which means I can have a nice catch up with two of my sisters who live 200 miles away.

    No! stuck to shopping list

Think of others. went for walk with DD1's best friend - her family live miles away so offered to take her out for a walk - nice for both of us :)

Make a budget NSDs 4/30 Nothing spent on day 4!
Enjoy the month. Do things that make you happy. Today I went for a swim in the sea with my boxing class teacher, I've had a least 1 swim a month since January. It's very refreshing and good for the soul :D
Read. When I got back I cleaned out the tortoise and then sat for an hour with a cuppa and my book. Book 4 must have been very short as I'm now ploughing throu Book 5
Reduce. Nothing new has entered the house today. Someone popped round to collect an oil heater/radiator thingy we had up for sale on fbook.
Increase. Music practice. 15 minutes on the guitar and just 20 on the sax.
Move it! I've entered a triathalon with my brother in September, so today I worked on my swimming technique. Normally we just leisurely breast stroke out. I'm getting a lot more confident in the water, and less scared of the water splashing in my face.
    Every day gratitudes:
    1) Lovely sunny morning swim.
    2) Unexpected afternoon nap (book relaxed me too much)
    3) Hearing the news my Granma has been cleared for swimming by her doctor after her surgery. :D
No! to wants, to treats. Nothing naughty today!
Think of others. I let bf borrow my computer all day :p

Toni'sfriend - shame you don't live near greent, with all that ironing to do!

Chocolatelover - well done on paying down so much this month.

F0xh0les - 6out of 6 of my tomato seeds have sprouted. No borg connection there that I can think of... When dd was born, I did jokingly suggest we call her 7 of 9. Dh wasn;t very keen.

Raph - a sea swim. Brrr!

Today I am grateful for getting what we needed from town this morning, for chatting with a friend while dd danced, for the snooker and the cycling.

No money spent yet. Good progress on tidying/ decluttering. DS3's lovely friend (the one with useful skills) has arrived for the weekend. Hoping he will make DS3 do the heavy lifting stuff DS3 says he can't do alone.

Have emptied and turned off the fridge which is being collected on Wednesday - not cleaned yet as it's still in situ despite having said what needed to be done early on. Lovely friend helped a great deal with clearing the remaining rubbish from the front room and he nearly cleared the couch. I was sent into exile (my room) as they were ordering food but have had several forays into the kitchen.

2 loads of clothes have been washed, lots of stuff has gone into various bins, moved the chinchilla cage, swept behind it (including all the old spiderwebs dangling from the ceiling - they catch all the dust that flies up from the pet cage), relocated hay/ food/ treats/ found amongst the debris into the cube shelves (DS3's friend stood over him and made him put away all the cds/ dvds that were formerly in the old sideboard - he threatened to bin everything if DS3 did not sort through).

Have filled the dishwasher, put some things away on the shelves (was clearing off the small table that's going outside - have used a previous table outside and it lasted several years), pizza boxes and 2 sacks of paper waste removed.

In my room, all the remaining embroidery and sewing supplies now fit in one cube box, several smaller wooden boxes available for drawer dividing in the kitchen. Kitchen is still a mess but looking clearer, going back to do a bit more before it gets dark.

Today I am grateful for helpful visitors, for it mostly being fine enough to dry washing outside (hailstoned at one point) and for being able to see the wood for the trees - just need to keep plodding steadily and then I might be in a position to start cleaning over the next few weeks (that's regular cleaning + spring cleaning and dealing with all the neglected bits). There are some bits that could do with painting but don't think I can face moving stuff to get at the bits that need doing - perhaps I could plan it for the autumn when they go away to Telford convention.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
