Evening,
Well new job is still great. Such a lovely bunch of people and the days go quickly as you know exactly what you are doing on the rota but each application makes you think so it keeps your mind active. I’ve been falling asleep in the chair most evenings; could be the job or could just be my age :rotfl: Payday on Friday and I’ve had a tax credit recalculation up to April so I can budget the next couple of months. I’ve only overpaid £100 so far this year but my credit card is clear, I’ve £1k in an emergency fund and I’m just a few hundred off topping my premium bonds up to the £5k mark. I’ll then feel I’ve got enough buffer to chuck everything at the mortgage for a while. I was hoping to get to nearly £50k by my fixed deal end on 31 October but it might be a stretch, good to have a challenge though. Hoping to control my grocery spends a bit better; with careful planning fingers crossed. I’m still estimating the petrol amount but if there is any left at month end I’ll put it in my sealed pot.
We are still running, done 4 full weeks now and we can see improvements. My son is really impressing me as he can nearly do our circuit (about a mile and a half) without stopping. I certainly couldn’t have done that at his age. I think the driving force for him is the fact that we will go on the bus when we do our park run and he loves a bus. I’m aiming for us to do our first one around Easter time.
I’ve also booked some tickets for days out, both on early bird deals. Gardeners World in June and Countryfile in August. I’m waiting for the second release of Carfest tickets and then that’s all the big days out sorted. I think I might go for Friday tickets again as it’s a shorter day. My boy was falling asleep before The Jacksons finished last year so he’ll not keep awake for a longer music set so what’s the point in paying extra if we will be leaving before it’s finished? For him it was more about dancing diggers and fast loud cars; he was only embarrassed by the mum dancing  Off to bed, one good thing about using my brain all day is I sleep betterSPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)2 -

Hi Jessy,
Hope things are ok. I’ve not been since before my boy arrived but I think he’s old enough now. We watch Gardeners World on a Friday when it’s on and when we discussed it he asked if Monty Don would be there; yes he will! Only problem is there’s not much space in my gardenSPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)1 -
I saw Monty at a show once. It was lovely. At the shows they do show small gardens - they amuse me as they seem average sized for a modern house!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Payday at long last :T. Working back full time certainly made a difference to my salary but I haven’t had a full time childcare bill yet
. I made a total of £192.91 overpayments in January and I’m hoping to start February off tonight when I do some online banking. I’ve won £5 on the Greyhound Lottery so I think when that comes in I’ll add it to my sealed pot. Big shop this morning as there is more shelf showing than food on shelves  The list is long but I’m hoping not expensive. It’s really quite breezy here today but hoping the rain holds off. We might go to the wildlife park tomorrow if I can get a few jobs done today. I’ve booked a day off in a couple of weeks; just a “me” day but no idea how to spend it. I really want to sort out my bedroom a bit, things shoved under the bed etc and I’d like to rearrange the furniture. I’ve got some graph paper somewhere so I need to measure up and see where it will all fit. I had an old airing cupboard knocked out last February with the intention of moving around for a better layout; I can’t imagine why it’s never got done :rotfl:

Hello :hello:
Hope everyone is well. I made an overpayment of £300 so I now stand at £57,550. I might be able to make another small one by the end of the month. I’ve also got my premium bonds up a bit so savings are reasonably healthy at the moment. I won £5 on the Greyhound Lottery so when that gets paid in I’m putting it in my sealed pot.
Got an email today to say Countryfile at Castle Howard has been cancelled so money will be paid back in account. Something to do with they failed to get enough sponsors to stage it in both locations; never mind it just obviously wasn’t meant to be.....SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)2
