Had a lovely night away on the coast. Spent more than I anticipated but still only £20 and we have made some nice memories, including purchasing a robin Christmas tree decoration that will always remind us of this trip. Hetty is now 11 years old (she's a greyhound) and it was great to see her charging along the beach like a youngster closely (or not!
) followed by my 6 year old. Its my last week at work :T and my son's last week at school
so he has loads of things on between now and Christmas, some of which I'm included in not just chauffeuring! Carols round the tree tonight. I haven't wrapped a single thing, still have a sleeve to knit for his sweater (and the neckband and to sew it up.....) and the tree is still in its box. The house is "not tidy", the washing is getting put away without being introduced to an iron and I'm not quite sure if I'm coming or going  Pretty normal Christmas time then! In my madness I have declared that for 2020 I hope to overpay my mortgage by £3,000; its good to have ambition

I've just been decorating our tree and remembering past years and the mishmash of decorations that have been bought on trips, or given to us... Very special

Well this is a rare treat, Sunday morning and my son is still asleep. I’ve managed to sneak downstairs and make a coffee; now sat in silence in the living room with the tree lights twinkling, the curtains open and watching the world wake up. Started the January grocery challenge and back to my normal budget. Will do the big first of month shop on Monday while my son is playing at a friends house. Started the meal plan yesterday and have the first week full with breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. The snacks are my son’s and quite frankly I run out of relatively healthy things to give him. He’s gone off the supermarket cherry toms (don’t blame him) and told me yesterday to grow some, only thing is he doesn’t realise they won’t be ready until August. I had to buy him a new coat and dressing gown yesterday which we will collect on Friday. I’m afraid Santa and his elves didn’t help me out on those so I had to get my purse out. I couldn’t find anything in the sales either so had to pay normal price. I’ve ordered age 7/8 in both and he’s an average size child who will be 7 in March so they should last a while. Will do some money moving around today but have had to allocate more than normal to pots as start full time at work on the 7th so more fuel and childcare. Will have to update tax credits this week sometime as you can only report changes less than 7 days before they occur. I have no idea how much I will lose but prepared for the worse case scenario and now I do have an emergency fund if it’s a squeeze before I start with proper salary etc.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)0
