It's a longstanding offer since the year dot, and some have experienced issues when trying to claim it without good reason, so take careful note of the wording:

    Many thanks for the reply.
Hmm.... I may not bother going the FD route as I was intending leave once the six months was up.

Are there any other accounts which can be switched without the need of direct debits?

Just an update from my post on the 8th Sept. Contacted them yesterday about doing my switch via moneysavingexpert for the £125, and when would I get the Switching Bonus. No problems at all then, and money has been credited to my account today. One happy boy :)

It sounds like they are not willing to pay in the bonus automatically to people - cheeky!

Looks like I will be giving them a ring soon as well then :D
  • I switched to FD through the link to get the £125 joining incentive, but have only been paid £50. I just rang them to ask about it and they said I didn’t join in time to get the higher offer. I’m sure I did - can anyone confirm what date the £125 offer expired please?

According to posts further up this thread, it was reduced from £125 to £100 for switches started after 10 June and then down to £50 on 30 July.
