That's really not worth signing up for.

We were intending to switch two Nationwide current accounts for the £100 , but noticed on the MSE mailing that the bribe had dropped (looks like an all round the banks cut in bonuses/savings rates is starting again),but it is still worth going ahead for the 5% regular saver, before they cut that, too.

I've had a quick look, so may have missed something, on the HSBC site and have found no reference to a switching bonus; just the mention of 12 months free membership to a cycling organization.

My £100 First Direct bonus hadn't been paid in 28 days, so just called on day 33 and they promised it in this afternoon.

Not really what I would expect from the top rated CS bank though.

Edit: and true to the CS rep's word i'm now £100 better off.

Thanks for the timely reminder as I noticed the other day mine hadn't been paid but was too busy to look into it further. I have just contacted them and they will pay today. RBS have promised their incentive payment by 30th August so a nice £225 bonus for my birthday tomorrow.

I had to do exactly the same. Hardly the service I expected. At least they answer the phone quickly.
