As long as you've started the switch by the 10th June the bonus will apply.
Also when you call them to set up online banking the cs rep can change the switch date upto 3 weeks earlier than the website says.

Thanks for the tip. I phoned this afternoon and set everything up, and while I was at it I asked to bring the switch forward. It will now happen in 7 days instead of waiting until 26th June.

I switched to FD online & they accepted a photo of drivers licence along with a selfie. Mind once the account is open there is also a lot of palava in setting online banking also.
    What sort of palaver?

Re "online banking palava" ... that is only the start of your worries! They have re-designed the online banking website this week. You will wish that you had never switched to First Direct. Look at Trustpilot for their most recent.

Time to switch quickly to another bank.

I speak as I find, but I had absolutely no problem opening First Direct accounts for both myself and my husband and we received the switching bonuses within a couple of weeks of the switches being completed. Neither of us had to submit any documents to them at all and we had debit cards, PINs and had set up regular savers within a week, which I thought was pretty good (I've had to wait far longer with some of our other banks.)

I agree that the setting up of the online banking is a bit of a performance, but once sorted, I've had no problems with their website, or anything else and I've opened other savings accounts for us, so I don't need to recycle £1000 through the accounts every month.

All in all, I'm very pleased with them.:p
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.

For those who have the bonus, how soon after the switch completed did you get the cash?
