  • So glad to get the feeling you are more upbeat. I was quite worried about you last week. We have squirrels in the garden and the boys love to watch them but I now see them in a totally different light after reading your posts :rotfl:

I think consolidating your debt into a 2 year loan is quite sensible - would you have your original debt paid off in that time? Our surroundings really affect our mood so I am glad you have a lovely home to enjoy.

Life is far too short and unpredictable. 4 nights in Spain sounds perfect - it's not like you have booked a round the world cruise. Relax and enjoy it xx
  • What a relief about the squirrels Sunshine :T.

Your loan is a low interest rate and has a set end date when you will be debt free, so it sems like a sensible move to me. Unlike credit cards where you can make you monthly payment and then just spend on them again (that's what I used to do because I was too poor not to by then :().

It sounds like you've made your new flat into a home where you can be happy :) and great news about the salary increase which will make the loan more affordable :T.
Thank you for your kind words.

Glad the squirrel problem seems to have resolved itself. Presumably you'll get the hole sealed up where they got in?

You've done what you need to do in the best way for you to tackle finances.

Glad you've booked a break away, it will do you good :)

The hole is getting sealed up, but it's a slow process with the housing association. Have a fab holiday.

  • :j to the decamped squirrels! Hopefully they've gone back to Squirreltowm!

Moving home is always expensive - always extra expense with things that crop up unexpectedly, plus you were running two homes for a while. Your budget plans seem well thought out going forward.

Re the holiday - you've had some ups and downs this year so I think a break is in order. You deserve it. :)

Scarecrow festival sounded great fun. Never seen anything like that in my neck of the woods!:)

Great community event it was the Scarecrow Festival. I am hoping for a quiet time now . :rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you for the concern BB50 , I am hoping things have calmed down for a while.

  • The squirrel man came back tonight, crawled in the loft and declared they have left home. He wouldn't let me pay him, lovely man. I have him on speed dial now should I need him.

I now await the hole being filled in by the housing association, but things go slow on that front.

I have ordered my GDs Christmas present tonight, overnight the price had gone down £10 as 20% off today, so a win there. Also got my mums present ordered.

Maybe a bit early but I can't stand the rush of Christmas. The money has been saved all year for all the presents.

    Good news on the squirels.
Lovely man to not take any money :)
If there any way some way someone can put something over the hole as a stop gap?

  • Good news that the squirrels have definitely gone!:j. Great that the pest man didn't charge!

Well done on the Christmas shopping...I’d thought about it for my gks but they’ve both got birthdays before Christmas and I’ve no idea what they’ll get...so I’m hanging fire. I’ve got a few bits for great nieces and nephews though.
What a lovely man not charging for the squirrel evacuation :T nice to know you can call on him again should you need him....but I hope you don’t.
