I have fallen disastrously behind yet again but will catch up in the days between Christmas and New Year, my absolute favourite time of year. In the meantime:
Merry Christmas everyone who contributes to this thread. It wouldn't be what it is without each and every one of you.
    Better is good enough.

Afternoon all, so far I have had a shot of akvavit with my (late) breakfast, a 150ml glass of mulled wine at 2.30pm and another at 3.30pm. It is wonderfully warm and spicy but having been cooked now for nearly an hour with the simmering yesterday and reheating today just not very boozy. But that's good :) I have some wine in the fridge to go with the main course, which I'll start cooking shortly.

Happy Christmas to all, having a decent drink today and tomorrow, but will be Alcohol Free on Friday.
  • Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday. My head is killing this morning, am sure you can guess why. That means I shall try really hard to stay off it today, I don’t think I can face it. House looks like a bombs hit it. Christmas karaoke finished at 2am. Even then I only slept for four hours. Someone has spilt read wine on the carpet too oh dear. The day ended up quite enjoyable and now realise everyone will be descending on me again later as ours is where the food is!
Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.

Morning all, back to report the rest of my Christmas Day drinking, I had a cocktail at about 5pm (one shot of rum), and then from 7pm through till 9. 30pm had four and a half glasses of wine with my dinner ... yep, one whole bottle  I checked the ABV today (the empty bottle is still sitting on the window sill looking at me) and it's 13.5 per cent. I didn't feel drunk though and I'm okay today, slept really well and feel a teeny bit fuzzy but no real signs of a hangover apart from that.

This is definitely useful spelling out what I drank. I'm drinking again today so will do the same today. After today, that's it for December.

    Morning all :)

I was much the same as you cathybird - I drank virtually a whole bottle of wine but it was spaced out slowly throughout the day - starting at lunchtime and finished at about 11pm. I did remember to include several glasses of water during the day and I think that helped.

Will probably have something to drink today but will try and limit it to a couple of glasses ;)

Have a lovely Boxing Day everyone :T

Good morning everyone, happy Boxing Day. Well I too had rather a lot to drink yesterday, but I have to say I enjoyed it :o. I started at 11.00 with two glasses of Bucks Fizz then while I was cooking lunch two white wine spritzers (only 8 percent proof wine). Pre lunch I had a cocktail (one measure of gin) then one glass of red wine (we had beef) but it was a large glass and a small glass of port with the pud. I didn't have anything else to drink during the afternoon and early evening but then had a couple of glasses of wine. I felt ok this morning and was up early preparing for my next lot of visitors. These include some children so I won't drink much today. Enjoy your day everyone. X
