I'm not surprised you exploded, Jojo. Patience of a saint and all that.
(((Hugs))) Dancemum. It sounds exhausting at the moment.
Very sorry to hear about the furbaby, Piggers, even if it wasn't one of yours it's still heart-breaking for everyone.
Hope the boiler's fixed soon, Fayolle. Not a good time of year to be without reliable heat and hot water.
I hope the bubbles were lovely, Mademoiselle, and huge congratulations to your Baby Doctor DD.
In case I forget or don't get on here tomorrow, Happy Birthday Narco! Enjoy your Parkrun and breakfast - going out for breakfast is my favourite meal, much better than dinner.

One short cat chase happened yesterday, and Twiggle is not over it yet. A little bit of reining in is happening and we're focussing on leaving her alone for a couple of minutes at a time instead. First trip to the vet yesterday went smoothly.

The kittens are now spending a lot of time outside which is lovely for them as we plugged the last gap in the Colditz-type fencing before we picked up Layla. They're in heaven out there and even if it means the kitchen door is open while it's still cold I don't mind. They haven't sussed that the cat flap is now 100% operational so I'm going to set that as OH's task of the day. That'll ease things, too.

My office is now looking like a bomb's hit it but it's all superficial and the rest of the house is okay. It'll get a thorough sort today so that it's civilized again. I've got another load of laundry to do and a huge pile to get in, fold and put away. Progress.
    Better is good enough.

OH on bike ride for soilder F in central London 20,000 + or so they say, yet there seems currently to be a complete media blackout on the TV news channels which is odd considering parts of central London are at a major standstill.

    [STRIKE]Go to gym[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Do drum practice [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Clean church[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Check and send off a report and start another[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Do flower arrangement for SILs birthday[/STRIKE]

Got back from gym/drum/church to find Mr N and BIL getting themselves some sandwiched in a hurry. They'd had meeting/visit from nurses, who didn't like the look of MIL's condition which seemed to have deteriorated since yesterday, so after various phone calls decided an x-ray was in order. In Harlow, yippee our close hospital. Ambulance to arrive in 2hrs time. Other friend in Harlow notified that we might be able to visit (haven't got to him yet!). Boys went off. 4hrs later I had a text to say the ambulance had just arrived and she was being taken to Stevenage as she had been discharged from there less than 72hrs previously. Boys came home had a cup of tea and set off again.

    In the meantime I have:
    watered greenhouse
    rung my Mum
used leftover flowers for another arrangement
cooked a moussaka assuming boys return before breakfast
    laid the table
    put together a salad
about to sort out a pudding
sorted out some forms I have to fill in and return by Sunday.

Oddly enough, I feel quite galvanised and fairly full of energy, which is more than can be said for the poor boys; BIL arrived about 2.30am after work and Mr N hasn't slept well for ages.

JoJo sorry but I think I would have strangled him by now.

Loooonnnggg day at work. Not unpleasant, just long. No flying apart from dw emptying and HHI before I left this morning. DH was sent to Mr M with a VERY specific list and seems to have achieved. He was also left with specific wm instructions and shirts are hanging so another success.

Narc0 - not sure how you’re doing it, but hats off to you. And to your OH and BiL.

I now have tea and a piece of fudge so that is me done for the evening.

Fayolle I think it is just hysteria!
Just had txt from boys (yes I know they are 67 and 61!); MIL just gone into x-ray and seems absolutely fine, none of the signs the nurses were so concerned about this morning.........the words 'attention seeking' rudely crossed my mind. Apparently they may send her home soon, which means her sons will have to sort out dinner and bed preparations for her. Then maybe even come home and eat what's in the cooker. Somehow I think my birthday run may be over-ruled by 3 people sleeping till lunch time......except BIL has to be back at work in Southampton by 2pm.

In the meantime I have paid cc bill, downloaded bank statements in preparation for tax return, filled in church forms, done a bit of my on-line course, made a date and almond sponge pudding and typed a bit of a report.

Happy Birthday Narc0! Hope you get either a good long lie-in or a good short time for your run.

(((Hugs))), GWS wishes and coping vibes all round, as needed, but especially to dancemum, Narc0 and the boys, and Lame Wolf.

Well, yesterday seemed to disappear in a cloud of smoke. 'Nuff said.

DH is out on the railway again today, and not expected back until after 7 pm. I still have a pile of paperwork to deal with, but the sun is shining and I would far rather be out in the garden this weekend! However, the important meeting that should have taken place on Thursday evening was deferred until Sunday afternoon at the request of the families involved (they couldn't get babysitters, but didn't let me know until Thursday afternoon :() so tomorrow will also be pretty much a write-off.

My patience is wearing even thinner with DH over the way he is still putting on weight rather than losing, so of course his hip is deteriorating more rapidly than it might do if he lost weight [zips mouth tightly shut]

    Flying today will consist of
[STRIKE]- put away last night's pots and pans
    - tidy round the LR[/STRIKE]
    - S&S kitchen and bathroom after breakfast
    - water house plants and seedlings
    - iron 5 church teatowels :o
    - clear more paperwork
    - file/shred finished paperwork, as appropriate
    - take Rosie for walk (a nice long one - might drive to the big hill for a change of scene)
    - get tomorrow's joint out of the freezer
    - make SW lasagne for this evening's meal from bolognese leftovers, which will be stretched with lentils ;)
    - I also have 2 grapefruit and 2 lemons which need making up into marmalade before they go mouldy.

Hope everyone has a good weekend xx

    Morning

Well, that was the loooongest week ever at work :(And for the record, I'm still doing the same job, in the same room, with the same supervisor as I was prior to last Friday. Only I now have anxiety and paranoia sat at the desk with me. People!! No wonder I prefer budgies. And dogs. And cats. And three toed sloths.

I'm sat here with the knowledge that I really need to fly this weekend but I only have fumes left in the tank :o Hair appointment at 12 - so need to be fit for public consumption by then. PO is opposite the hairdressers so I'll post my Easter cards and a birthday card at the same time.

I'll sort Mount Washmore, set the first load swishing, then get washed and dressed. Hopefully the brain fug will dissipate as the day progresses.

    Happy Birthday Narc0 xx

Hugs and posivibes being sent out in to the ether.

  • Morning all.

    Dw emptied
    Wmx1 swished and hung outside.
    Kitchen tidy
    Annual landline line rental paid

Bit more pottering to be done while small is happily entertaining himself.

No idea what the plan is for today. Sunny, but cold. Urgh. Who knows???

    Thoughts with you all.
    Wish.
