Christina, I always get a lone cook book (the same one) stay open even when I set my holiday settings. There appears to be nothing at all I can do about it so I just keep my fingers crossed that it never sells while I am away.

...still no sales on my new lot of books...panicking now.

  • Thanks for the warning guys, I'm about to go on holiday, first time that I will have used the holiday setting since I first started selling in 2004. I would have been wondering about a lone book still up for sale.

    Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems accessing the Amazon Seller Connection

Or is it just me - perhaps I have been banished :o

I get an error telling me that perhaps my bookmark is out of date - but I have tried to go in via the links from the seller page

Oh well - I was just going to go and lurk and see what folks were moaning about today as I have just had to issue a refund (newer edition of book listed with same ISBN as an older version - doh  - and I did not notice the date discrepancy). At least it was only a penny book.

Oh hum - will put my holiday settings on in 2 days for a month, so thanks for the heads up on the lurking book. Perhaps it will be titled The Last Teaspoon :rotfl:

Now I can read the posts on the discussion boards, but I don't seem to be able to reply to them - me thinks this is a problem at Amazon's end - what a surprise

Hi numberthree - its my turn today to get the 'seamless registration error' message on the seller connection. On previous experience it happens occasionally and no amount of logging in/out or clearing cookies etc makes any difference. Just have to wait for it to sort itself out which can take all day!

I am a relatively new amazon Seller and recently sold 2 books. I didn't get feedback or any reply to my emails saying I had dispatched but wasn't concerned about that since reading these boards.

One book was an expensive text book - sold for £30 ish - so I sent that first class signed for on the day of payment. I checked Royal Mail and all it would say was a card had been left as delivery had been unsuccessfully attempted (ie no one in)

I have heard nothing from the buyer at all and today, went to pick up a parcel at PO to find it is my book returned to me, so obviously they didn't collect it.

This is 2 weeks after posting it and since I said immediate dispatch I am really surprised the Buyer hasn't contacted me.

I don't see why I should pay another £4 to send it again .

does anyone have advice? can I legitimately email the Buyer and say I will resend but they will have to pay for that - or is it my problem? Should I just wait for them to contact me? I don't want to rip someone off but it is really starange they haven't been in touch or collected the book given it is such an expensive purchase.

Any help appreciated as I can't find any answers on Amazon!

You could try phoning the Amazon Customer services, their number is on the help pages.

    Thanks Soolin - I did

They were pretty non committal about who has to pay for postage but on their advice I have emailed the Buyer saying when Rm tried to deliver and when it was sent and that I have the book back so what do they want me to do now. They advised me to email a couple of times a week for the next few weeks

Will update when and if I get a response

I had a book returned a week or two ago marked "not collected". When I rang customer services they said I'd fulfilled the contract, had proof, and the package hadn't been opened ( I put a return label on for just this eventuality) and to email saying either I would resend and sort the postage out privately or they were free to come and collect it. That way I am covered in case of an A-Z claim and they have it on record that I'd contacted them. I emailed - no response - and the book is still here - a pretty obscure thing worth about £15.
