    Soolin - don't lose heart

My sales only seem to be holiday reading types at the moment and absolutely non of my student type books or more expensive books have moved since the middle of June. I am now looking to September and I think the specialist/student books will start to sell once again then - I hope so anyway

We've just had a minor domestic cos I discovered that my husband had reduced a boxed set of CDs to such a low price that we would actually have lost money on the deal (buyer pays standard p&p, as for a single CD).

He had paid an annoying amount for them originally to teach A level music, but they changed the syllabus, ho ho.

Nothing at all is selling here - I now have a very large charity shop box.

Still not one of them sold and I'm wondering if these specialist interest type books will have been hit by the recession ? I have now had one sale today though a text book that has been listed for about 2 weeks, so a little something for the pot. I might halt listing these specialist ones and start on a box of general stuff that I've got that needs to be uploaded. maybe a few general novels might attract some buyers.

We had a slight domestic a couple of weeks back, a book that I had bought my OH had got listed by accident (cough) and sold so I sent it out and forgot to replace it. Then I go a call while I was out shopping saying he couldn't find it and where had it gone...I had to go and buy it full price in a shop and sneak it back home. he figured out I had sold it though and keeps telling people not to leave anything lying around in case I sell it!

Incidentally, if anyone is going to the Discworld convention in August they are doing a book crossing stand and are happy to take donated books to swap or pass on.

am busy trying to explain to OH why spending nearly £150 on books that are currently making the dining room unusuable was a good business idea.

Cheer up Soolin, our garage has been unusable since November due to a job lot of books that I have been sooooo slowwwww to list. I thought I would get more grief from OH than I have, guess he's got used to my odd Amazon ways

As you know I am not a believer in the conspiracist theory, my sales have been slow, this week one from 2004, several from 2005 and the rest from this year - who knows why - I guess eventually someone wants it.

Good luck with your books though, it's always nice to break even so that anything else that sells is profit.

We live in extraordinarily similar domestic circumstances!

We probably all do :rotfl: . Piles of books every where - promises to get them listed. Books listed that sell when OH hasn't quite finished reading etc

But the money comes in handy.

I have actually finished a book in the car outside the Post office before now and then stuffed it in the prepared envelope and taken it in to be sent to a buyer.

I am off on hols in couple of days and I have put holiday settings on. A strange thing though - I now have one book still showing in my inventory!! ANy ideas how this has happened? I am not too worried as the chances of one book selling must be low!
