  • Comet Clearance auctions have always been good to us.

does anyone know of any free listing days in the nearish future? We have loads of stuff to dispose off, and getting some funds for it would be nice if free!

Just about to list my car on ebay. It's been a wee while since I did this. Can anyone point me to a thread giving advice/ tips for car selling please? I have trawled through loads of pages and am sure there is something out there that I'm missing!

One direct word of advice is to use a classified ad when selling a car as this diminishes the risk of an auction finishing with a winning bidder and then them walking away after indulging in a spot of tyre-kicking.

This would be my stock advice for most collection items - which usually precludes using eBay as classified ads are not available in most categories - but it can be done profitably through eBay in this case.

I already placed the ad, but don't think it was a classified ad. Will check it out and see. Thanks for the info.

I'm new to EBay, so learning as I go along :j I have a few questions.

I've seen this on another thread: BIN, does that mean Buy it now?

If an item is in an auction but has a BIN price and I want the item, do I offer the BIN price, or still make an offer?

If an item has a reserve price, how do I know what the reserve price is?

With a reserve orice, can I still make an offer, or do I have to offer the reserve price.

Sorry for so many questions :o

If the item is an auction with a BIN then you either pay the BIN or place a bid and that knocks out the BIN.

You can always ask the seller what the BIn is, they don't have to tell you but most will, the minimum will be £50.

Offers can only be made if the auction is set up as a BIN with best offer.

hi does anybody know how i can find out where to sent an item back to. so i can claim on the warranty for a faulty item. please.
    the story goes as follows.
on the 17 march 2013 i purchased a car entertainment system. by the 21 march i had a fault, to which i emailed the supplier, on the 22 march they replied not (not very helpful). on the 30 April i sent another email, on the 2 May they replied. on the 2 May i sent another email, they replied on the 3 May. i then sent a further email on the 1 July, to yet i have had no reply. i sent another email on the 5 July still no reply. i have opened a case on with ebay. ebay have tried to contact the supplier to no avail. i have escalate the case with ebay who have not got back to me as yet. i can only guess that they are having the same problem as me in contacting the seller. ebay tell me the seller is registered as Ultrabook-power, ultrabook-power tell me that i should be emailing green2reindeer@gmail.com. and the contact seller button on ebay is saying New Cenury Ltd-China. none of these contacts are being very helpful.
all i would like to do is claim on the warranty for a new unit.
if anybody knows how i can to this could they please point me in the right direction, as im getting more and more frustrated with the situation.
    thank you.

You would be best posting a new thread, this won't get seen on here.

You will also need to give more detail, ie, how did you pay, was it a business you bought from or was it from a listing on Ebay where the seller is in China?

    I've been Money Tipped!
hi sorry for posting on here but not sure where i should post this.

I am selling some gift vouchers on ebay and someone whats to offer me a really good price for them, they asked if i could cancel the auction and she would pay me direct via paypal. Im just a little worried as i have heard people can get there money back even when they have received the goods. This person seems very eager to have the vouchers said she would like to have them by friday and has even offered to pay some of the cancel money that ebay charge for early closing. the vouchers are £200 and she is willing to pay me £185.
is there any way that she will be able to claim her money back even tho she has had the vouchers as i will be them sending off special delivery
would be very grateful for any help :)

    many thanks in advance
