  • From personal experience, I would like to warn people to think carefully about buying from business sellers if the item is being sold in an auction (i.e. not 'buy it now') because you have far less rights on an auction purchase. I am currently in dispute with a business seller over an item bought from auction, and apparently the only consumer rights I have is that the item must be 'as described' - the Sale of Goods Act 1979 does not cover this purchase.

Obviously if you're buying something for £10 rather than £100 the risk is far smaller.

Of course the Sale of Goods Act 1979 covers this purchase.

What do you think specifies that the goods must be 'as described'?

is there any way that she will be able to claim her money back even tho she has had the vouchers as i will be them sending off special delivery

I have no personal experience of this but have read that it does happen from time to time.

The key is: does the buyer have a good ebay reputation? What has been their feedback? How long have they been a member for?

Most long-term ebayers wouldn't risk their good reputation for a couple of hundred quid. But if this is a new buyer, with no rep, forget it.

Is it just me or is it really hard to find?

Hi. Please can someone point me to the fantastic thread about selling on Amazon? I have used it in the past so I know that it exists. I have been searching for ages but nothing comes up.

    Many thanks

The very long thread lapsed a couple of years back, but do feel free to start another. We certainly have some Amazon sellers on the board
