Well done all of you who have had losses already - great effort :j
Not a good start to the challenge as I'm reporting STS this week.
Last week was a write-off food wise but once again it;s a new day and the start of a new weight loss week, so let's put last week behind us and look forward.
One phrase I've heard a few times recently that has resonated with me is 'Do something today that your future self will thank you for'. I think it's a good one to keep reminding myself of.0 -
Good morning all (just!)
Sorry I’ve been missing in action, not quite sure what happened there, I’ve just been so busy! Currently bleaching this new house! I can’t quite believe that in a small two bedroomed house where the previous owner didn’t go out to work, was hale and hearty and only owned one dog, that there should be so much dirt!! There’s also mice in the attic!
Anyhow, looking on the bright side, all this extra housework must be burning off a few calories!
I’m pleased to report that I have lost 2lbs this week! Lord knows how but I’ll accept it with no quibbles.
I promise to try to remember to read comments, cheer others on and update more frequently in the future.
So far today I have had 2 scrambled eggs on a slice of buttered toast with half a dozen mushrooms that needed using up. I’m making a mushroom lasagna in the slow cooker for dinner (enough for two nights) so will have that with either salad or veg tonight followed by no carb Bircher.
Looking forward to seeing what the scales say next week.
Cranky, providing I remember I’d like to make my W.I. day on Saturday in the future please. Ta very much. x0 -
DH had an evening job to go to and when he came back he had bought ice cream from the ice cream parlour- 2 scoops each and loads of chantilly cream  I could have said no or had half, but the reason I'm fat is that I have no will power. If it's in the house I eat it, so I try not to buy stuff like this. I said to him today that as much as I love it, please don't do it again!
To burn off some calories I went to town shopping with DD. We walked around oxford street and then down to Tottenham Court Road station. I was trying on clothes in a size 16/18 and telling her I still had a pair of size 6 jeans at home. She said when did I last fit those? I worked out it was 15 years ago, she can't remember me being that slim - she was only 5 then!
I said when we got to the station near home I wanted to walk back (about a 15 minute walk). When we got out it was pouring with rain and she thought I'd get the bus instead, but no, I made us walk :rotfl:
I'm going to work very hard for this quarters weight loss!0 -
Evening Everyone,
I'm like you Dandy Candy. I am hopeless at moderation and better at abstaining all together so try not have stuff in the house.
It's been really cold today. I'd put my short leggings on to go to Pilates after the lovely weather yesterday but after nipping out to feed the cats I changed and put on my long leggings and boots!
As well as Pilates I've had two walks to feed DS's cats and a short run with my friend. We were supposed to be doing Day 3, Week Four of the couch to 5k but she couldn't manage the last run of the four. She had been looking after her one year old grand daughter for 3 days and is 70 so I am not surprised. I said she should listen to her body and give it a rest today. We will try again Thursday afternoon when she's more rested. Anyway, the distance we did cover meant I've done my step total for today so I can have a restful evening.
Lunch: Smoked salmon, cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes and the apple, onion and carrot coleslaw I made yesterday.
Dinner: Pork shoulder chop with red peppers and a medley of courgette, aubergine, mushrooms and garlic all cubed and sauteed in olive oil with a sprinkle of chilli and a super seed mix. Tiny piece of jacket potato with butter.
Treats: 2 tiny biscuits, the sort you get on the side of your cup in a coffee shop.

Dumpling you're only fifty once so you enjoy it girl and let your family spoil youfresh start on Monday. I've cooked a couple of recipes from the PoN book my sister and I both really enjoyed the Mediterranean style lamb shanks. I also made their Mediterranean chicken orzo I might tweak that one next time it didn't help that I forgot to add seasoning
Dandy I'm another one with no willpower if it's in the house and opened I'm more than likely to finish the packet, for me the answer is not to have it in the house. I live alone so.... There's definitely advantages and disadvantages to living alone, on the plus side I don't have to buy stuff for others but I can't buy a pack of something have one and pass the packet on to someone else.
I had a day off today as I'm working Saturday, unfortunately the weather was wet and horrid. My sister and I went out for a late lunch, the village tearoom we went to do a great cheese on toast so we shared a portion (a slice each) and then had a slice of very nice cake each. I hoping it wouldn't show too badly on the scales tomorrow  we were planning the next part of our South Down Link walk which goes past the tea room
B - banana
L - 1 slice of cheese on toast and a piece of orange and chocolate cake

I am back from my week away visiting my mum and pleased to report a - 1 lb loss for week 1 which I am surprised about as was not particularly careful when away. Lots of meals out and alcohol which I normally avoid due to calories.
Today I had Weetabix and grapes for breakfast
Baked beans on toast for lunch
Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner with greek natural yogurt afterwards.
Snacks are fruit plus a few almonds.
11565 steps walked
Happy Birthday for Thursday Dumpling and don't worry about weight loss for this week, just maybe get back to healthy eating afterwards. That is my philosophy now. No more beating myself up over lapses but just get back on programme asap.
Cranky A 4.5 lb loss is awesome. Half way to target already. Fantastic.

Hi all, just popping in quickly, about to take dogs out. Today’s menu as follows:-
Several milky coffees throughout day
L. Peanut butter porridge
D. Mushroom lasagna, cabbage, mashed swede and broccoli followed by No carb Bircher.
Had big fibro flare after yesterday’s exertions and excessive inhalation of bleach fumes, but I forced myself to do my physio exercises and the vacuuming and I’m now pushing myself to take dogs out.
BTW, if anyone knows a good way of easily dusting metal Venetian blinds on a regular basis I’d be very grateful if you could impart relevant info. Thank you all so much.

Evening Everyone
K9zz could you use an old glove and just slide your fingers round each slat?
It's been cold but sunny today. Needed to keep moving to be warm. I had a walk to feed the cats earlier and then did a big loop round to the pool for a swim. The water is lovely but getting out is a bit chilly at the moment. We then had the plumber round to service our boiler and sort out a few drips here and there. This afternoon I've been to play tennis and then another walk to feed DS's cats again. He's due back a week today so still 7 days to go.
I usually have a brunch rather than lunch on a Wednesday so that I don't play tennis on an empty stomach but I had it rather too early today so I ended up eating again! We are planning a trip to the cinema tonight so I have been saving myself for a Magnum. We are going to see The Keeper which I think might be a bit of a weepy in places.
Brunch One: Spinach, cheese, garlic and mushroom omelette
Brunch Two: Piece of smoked salmon with cream cheese, cherry tomatoes and cucumber
Dinner: Salmon and prawns in a creamy lemon and dill sauce on a bed of courgetti and a few petit pois.
Treat: Honeycomb Magnum
Cutting back on my coffees with cream and also my squares of dark chocolate seem to be having the desired effect as the weight is now coming off. Hurray!

Hope you enjoyed the film Rose I'm told by my sister that it's a good film and for a film about a goal keeper not really about footballI don't need to see it as she's given me a detailed description of the story line
Busy day at work again today but I made time for a 45 minute walk lunchtime to enjoy the dry weather after yesterday's rain.
