I remember being aghast that I'd reached 8st 3lbs when I was 12 weeks pregnant!! I don't want to go that low again but would like to get back to around 9st. I went up to about twelve and a half stone a few years ago and then decided to lose weight and get below ten. Once I'd reached that target I decided I would go down another stone and managed that too. However, I've started drifting back up so am determined I shall lose it. I am 61 next month but feel fitter than I did in my early fifties. If I aim for 9st I shall still be a good stone and a bit heavier than I was before I had children but think it is an achievable target for my age.

I know we have only just started this but I've been dieting for 15 days now and initially had no weightloss which was disheartening considering I had cut out all sweets / chocolate / crisps/ biscuits and pop but stuck to quite a regulated diet:

B - no-fat yoghurt, skimmed milk and 4 strawberries (blitz together).

S - banana, grapes to nibble on in the morning at work.

L - 1 egg (or half a mackerel - I'm not kean on fish), cucumber, celery, 4 cherry tomato at home normally around 2pm.

D - meat, veg and rice or noodles.

S - pineapple or melon. (Weekends are low calorie ice cream).

Drinks would be water, chilli and cherry tea.

I've increased my walking where I can ie dog walking for 20 minutes 4x a day, yesterday I managed a whole hour shortly after getting up.

My job is office based but in a large building so I get to walk quite a distance just to get in to my desk.

Although I'm logging everything on MFP and eating well I'm finding most days I am no longer hitting my calorie target and having to look to eat more food! Which I don't always want as it's too late to eat or I'm still full.

Even today I'm nearly 450 calories under my 1150 target and probably going to have to munch on some crusty bread (sorry ladies!). Sometimes I miss lunch as I'm busy sorting the furbabies out and having a cuppa, weekends I tend to miss breakfast as I'm dossing around and before I know it it's lunchtime. (I know I'm losing calories here).

Anyhow, I've weighed myself twice this week; first time to see if I have started to lose weight and the second was to see if I've kept it off.

I'm looking to drop to 9 stone, started at 14st 1lb.

    7lbs have gone.

Rose Wood I’m so glad to hear you’ve managed it before, that gives me confidence that it can be done and age doesn’t need to be a factor!

    Good morning all,

kazwookie, I've added you. Well done on your loss so far and good luck with your next goal.

MovingForwards I've assumed that you wanted your 7lbs loss recorded for week one. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

I'll post again later and update the list this evening for any Monday weigh in results.

Take care all of you :)

Good morning everybody. It’s weigh day for me and pleased to say I have lost 1/2lb.This is on track for me and I’m happy with that.I’m going swimming this morning and hope to add one more length to my total .Two dog walks of half an hour each ,a bit of housework and that will be my exercise today.I have been losing weight very slowly for about two years and have found as I have got older it is harder to lose weight quickly and I need to eat smaller meals to lose my 1/2 lb a week .But as Cranky says that is a block of butter a week and I’m glad to see it go .

I hope everyone manages to lose a little bit this week and if not don’t be downhearted but keep on trying .A little bit less at each meal and a few steps more will creep you forward on that stubborn half pound .Good luck .

Just popping in really quickly to report my weightloss for week 1 as -4.5lbs. I suspect a lot of that is water weight etc., but it's a very good start either way.

I had a very good weekend. My mood was good, I stuck to healthy food, and I also didn't deprive myself, as I had pizza and drinks with friends on Saturday night, and a small piece of chocolate cake yesterday.

New week at work now and I'm determined not to let the stress get to me...

    -2lbs for me please Cranky.

I had a few naughty things last week, one of which was a couple of chips off DH’s plate. I haven’t had chips for a month and I found them really hard to swallow and quite indigestible, glad to say I can probably carry on without them!

Yesterday we were out doing the car boot sales and on the way back went to a Harvester for lunch. I had forgotten how much I like the salad bar, so today I’m going to buy some plastic tubs and keep grated carrot, tinned sweetcorn, sliced cucumber and sliced onion in the fridge. I’m far more inclined to have a salad if it’s ready to go, I can just chuck in some lettuce and a few tomatoes and get munching :p

I hope everyone does well on this new challenge :j

First week of the new challenge and, after being very worried mid-week when my weight had gone up despite sticking to my calorie limit, it's a -1lb loss for me. I'm reasonably happy with that but must try harder this week (which is going to be interesting as I'm out on Thursday and Saturday for a friend's birthday...) if I want to manage my target.

    Best of luck everyone.

    Morning All

I've a 2lb loss to report this morning. Although its only 11am i've already had a swim (30 min) and played tennis for and hour and a quarter. I also have been to feed DS's cats so steps are looking good. I am about to have a bath and wash my hair ready for playing cards at my friends and then going to work for 5pm. I've not sorted my meals out yet but had 2 hard boiled eggs as a snack.

    Rose

ETA Sorted out my meals. I used up all the leftovers in the fridge and made a couple of concoctions.

Lunch: Leftover cauliflower with a low carb sauce (Cheese, cream and a spoonful of chicken stock) over a sauteed half onion, ,mushroom and single slice of ham
as a base with left over petit pois on the side
Dinner: Smoked mackerel with a coleslaw made with other half of onion, 3 small scabby carrots and an apple going soft - all grated and mixed with a teaspoon of mayonnaise. A handful of spinach leaves, cherry tomatoes and cucumber on the side.
Treats: Probably a biscuit of some sort at friends house. 2 hard boiled eggs.
