It might be too late but my Mum makes my favourite dessert which is mango soup, I know she uses a cutout from a magazine and I can't find it online but there are other recipes online. It's chilled and is mainly mango, lime and ginger all pureed and she puts a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle.0

Hi Jollymummy,
As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've added it to the main thread on using mangoes to keep the suggestions together.

Hi OSers!
I have 6 ripe, juicy mangoes that need using up before they go off. Have you got any recipe ideas? I looked on the BBC website and mango salsa, mango chutney and upside-down mango cake seem to be the biggest winners, but I need more than that, and preferably not conserves like mango salsa, which is unlikely to be eaten in my house.
Thanks in advance - you guys are marvels, so I'm sure you wil come up with something scrumptious!

Can you do that? Are they freezable or do they do really soggy on defrosting?0 -
I've seen lots of recipes for cakes. More than we could eat before they go off. If you make a sponge cake, can you freeze it? If so, what's the texture like when you defrost it?0

You can dry mangoes, slice thinly and put them in an oven on the coolest setting with the door ajar overnight or until they feel leathery and store in an airtight GLASS jar ...not plastic or plastic bags because it makes them sweat and they go off really quickly.
OR Make a fruit leather with the mangoes

Wow. I never imagined that you could do anything like that with them!
I might start with something a little more susbstantial as there are Hungry Men in this house, but thanks for the tip! :T0 -
Hi SunFlower,
As your thread has dropped down the board I've merged it with the main thread on using up mangoes which should give you even more ideas.
