Ooh, Kerry Woman. Your trip is upon you! Wishing you a wonderful time.

Today I am grateful for dh meeting me in the car - I was cold and wet by that time and really appreciated him coming, for having lunch with some very good friends, for swimming with dd, for the rain watering the garden for me, for finding the Coopers marmalade that MIL has requested.

Simplicity - catch up with neighbour-over-the-way tonight :)

Persevere - totted up reduction to BTL for March :) Small tfr to hol fund today. Counted calories.

Reduce - bag of unwanted items (mix of mine and stuff from my Nan's) taken to CS. Heating is on tonight, though - it's been raining last night and much of today and it is just chilly and damp (will also get washing dry at same time!) Sadly, a jar of jam (2/3 full) went into food waste (well, the jam - jar is in dishwasher!) - I cleaned out the fridge and found mould in it (think someone used a dirty knife (cream) in it when we had scones) However, there are more jars of the same in the cupboard :) (Home made from garden fruit)

Invest - counted calories, batch cooked food, took stuff to CS and added another thing to Shoebox Appeal pile :)

    Evening all :)
Sorry I don't have time for a long post as I am in the midst of annual stocktaking for my little business
On the positive side, this means that I am currently on 2 / 15 NSDs for April, as I haven't had time to spend anything :)

Hope you have a great holiday Kerry Woman :)
  • NSD 1/15 really cold and wet day so had a lazy day with the dogs. Still using up cupboard and freezer food. Thankfully got the dogs walked while the weather was better and completed some phone calls that have been on my list for a long time! Hoping for a better day tomorrow!

    Hi all :j

All those off on their holidays have a lovely & restful time..

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Still on the spending freeze & do appreciate the friends I have & cake (probably too much tbh), appreciate DH & him now trying to help out. Also the place we live & the garden, one of my particular pleasures although no actual gardening is getting done due to clearing the overgrown bits. I'm hoping that the garden clearing 'puddles' will join up & it will all be worth it eventually.

Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. No outside work today as CS shift, shopping then meal prep plus clearing up leaves me no energy left. But there's always tomorrow!

Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Need to reduce food waste which is not really bad, but could improve. Taking stock of fridges is the first step for me.

Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Have lost a couple of pounds last week which is a relief as I had crept up into the next stone bracket & that is definitely not good. Have loads of clothes that would look better if I lost weight too, so that's an incentive as I'm not buying any more.

New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Trying not to beat myself up every day about what doesn't get done. Really hard.

Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Have to give this some thought...Have a project in mind that will be challenging.

NSDs: Still 1/15 as shopping today.

Pay to your debt/savings first and move forward from there. Attempt this

Have a budget and stick to it. On the list.

NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! Have a planned meal out on Thursday lunchtime for a celebration & might go out tomorrow, ooh the excitement. We had snow forecast though..

    Go turtles!!

Hi everyone here are my goals for April!

Simplicity - I need to remember this. Going to spend minimal money this week after eating out a lot last week. The weather will be bad this weekend so going to focus on gathering my energy and staying indoors. I will try to focus on balance this month. i.e. not drinking too much / spending too much but doing all these things in moderation so I can still enjoy it. This feels like a big challenge for me!

Persevere - I am going to book an official Spanish exam so that I have a goal to focus on. I need to spend at least 2 hours speaking/reading or learning grammar every day. Every time I don’t work on this I am getting further away from my goal.

Reduce - Minimal waste this week but was the first time I went to the supermarket without a meal plan which is bad. I am going to pledge not to throw away any food this month and try to repurpose all the plastic I can.

Invest - Been mediating, exercising and working on myself. Been calling my Mum more often. Need to make sure I keep in touch with my family and Skype etc. Need to do this at least once per week.

New - OK! I['m pretty good at not having regrets in this area!

Grab - take life by the horns. Going to spend time with my housemate and her friends on friday speaking spanish. Need to investigate new groups and activities on meetup, com, my 'safety net' of 2 friends are leaving me this year so I need to find new ones.

Cockroach watch - 2 live ones this morning
Work days until Easter - 8
    NSD: 1/15 yest

    have a great day turtles
