Dolly - I think that life just got really really busy for bob, with the baby, ds, work venue issues... She just seemed to fade away and isn't around now. Same for Habibiboo, Lilty... Tilly and Gally reached their goals but do pop back occasionally.
LLLL - go climb that mountain, girl! Everytime I see a hill, I want to get to the top of it. When I was fit, I used to just find hills and run up them! Now I waddle ...
Speky - thwarted by feta, ground coffe and pecans, eh? 'Fraid it made me giggle! At least they were all on the same day.
mothernerd - definitely cause for celebration! Well done you on joining puddles up.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Am planning on a batch of chilli at the very least
Hopefully can't see any need for spends for next few days... am working Weds and Thurs, which usually keeps me out of the shops
Collected lots of stuff from my Nan's house today. Lots of kitchen items to dishwasher and will pass most to my cousin and the remainder to CS. Emptied linen chest - have ragged some pillowcases, CS-piled some bedding and kept some old blankets for use for wrapping furniture. Today I am grateful for getting several niggly tasks done at work which should simplify the next few days, for the biiiig oak tree on my way home starting to bud, for dh having re-assembled the wash machine without having to hide any parts that were left over, for the prospect of being able to do a wash tomorrow once the glue has dried (!), for dd finding more things for the ch shop.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Welcome back to indigo and lauren, and hello and welcome to new turtles :hello:
I too have started the month with a spendy day. Me and the kids went out for our dinner tonight - it was a belated birthday present for me, with a voucher, as I hadn't wanted to battle the mother's day crowds yesterday.
Another day at work done and another day closer to the dreaded gcse exams. They seem to be suddenly springing up and the Year 11's are all stressed. I'm just on the massive countdown to Easter. 4 more get ups
I am tired tonight so will be having an early night in clean bedding and hoping for a decent sleep. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi. I'd like to join you this month if that's ok. I've lurked a bit on previous threads, but was a bit too shy to join, but this month's focus has struck a chord and I'd like to give it a go.

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Spending time with OH, friends and family.
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Trying to reduce food spends this morning and pay as much as possible to the debt.
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Trying to reduce plastic waste as much as possible.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Going to the gym plus various projects around the flat to tackle.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Last month wasn't great and I stopped posting, hoping this month will be better
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Hmmm will have to have a think about this one.
12 NSDs. for those with children as we have two weeks holiday this month and 15 for everyone else, more if you like. An NSD will not be spoiled by purchasing yellow sticker products only or medication, fuel or paying for regular activities (when planned in advance and the monies put aside in an envelope – eg children’s activities or random payments) and greent's usual milk excemption.
NSD today so 1/15.

Pay to your debt/savings first and move forward from there. Done.

Hi all :j
Hi & Welcome to all newbies, will try to do better this month after RL intervened last month..Many thanks to apple for running this months' challenge
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). I do try to do this already but will ramp it up. Have already reined myself in from spending - even down to ordering something, luckily my old card was saved so they have been trying to contact me to get the up to date info so they can send me the goods....in the meantime I realised I didn't even want them anyway, even with the £10 voucher off!
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Have been trying to do some work in the garden every day it has been fine as there is so much to do, not actual gardening, but fence painting, then planting a screen, chopping down loads of stuff. Still a very long way to go but am seeing results. And wonder of wonders DH is actually actively helping, this is astonishing..
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Also need to do this, hopefully declutter & sell as well.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Yes see gardening plus also there are some things that need doing here, maintenance wise. It's finding someone to do the specialist work that is a problem.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Will do.
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Have to give this some thought...

Pay to your debt/savings first and move forward from there. Attempt this
Have a budget and stick to it. Really bad at this...
NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money!
