Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). – Will do.
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. – Will have to focus my mind on my main goal.
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. – Will do.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. – Will do.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. – Will keep focused on doing positive things each day and spending my time/efforts wisely.
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. – Will look into this.
Will be aiming for 15 NSD this month. – As going on holiday and have to pay for food/refreshments. I like to buy somethings to remind me of my trip of a lifetime, but am going to limit on what I get.
I have a DD and SO already set up for my savings accounts.
Budget done for each category and already have holiday spending money sorted. Hoping to be bringing back some of the spending money.
NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Budgeted some money when I am away.
apple muncher - When are you going to Texas?

Kerry - we're off in 8 days. Gulp. We'll go and see dh's mum every day, as she's in a care home. And pootle around the town a bit. We're not great sight-seers, so feel no need to 'do things'. I like your idea of buying something as a special reminder of your trip. We are fully aware - without being morbid - that this may be the last time we get to spend time with MIL, so spending lots of time chatting with her seems the best thing to do. She's the total opposite of my mum: her mind is still sharp but her body is very frail. So talking to her is great fun and she has a wicked sense of humour.

    Must do a packing list...

Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can - - I'll have all 4 of my children home at some point in April, which will be lovely. Nothing big planned for smaller 2's break - just a blitz of DS2's bedroom and some 11+ practising with DS3. DD will be doing her dissertation for part fo her break and DS1 revising for exams, I think, so generally quiet. However, it is DS2's bday whilst all 4 are home - which is brilliant timing - and there will be cake! :bday: (I also have a voucher (bday present from March) to use before end of May for afternoon tea = more cake!

Persevere - know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Goals are Florida next year and paying off BTL - but balanced with some fun in the here and now

Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. - utilities use will be down overall - heating is off (although may be used occasionally in April on an ad-hoc basis) - water consumption will rise when students are home - more laundry and showers. Purchases in April - planned = presents for DS1 and a few DIY related things. I will be continuing to reduce 'stuff' - passing on where I can (either to others or via CS etc), maybe an occasional item being sold and hopefully anything else being recycled as opposed to binned.

Invest- in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you.myself= food/ exercise/ haircut/ eyebrows wax + tint (maybe) Family= time together, easy and nice food, games played. Home = continued decluttering and Spring cleaning, planting veggies, weeding/ tidying garden, painting fence, some minor DIY jobs

New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on.

Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month.

Kids = 12 NSDs - but, tbh, I suspect I may not even achieve that, with children of one age or another home from 5th April until early May.... We'll see..... :D
