ccl I want this appointment and this seems to be the way they do it. Someone else in my weight management group said she had the same thing when one of her children had to be monitored as a baby. It isn't too bad, I know of people through some of the other threads who have had cancer treatment and sometimes had 4 hour journeys each way.
It can be done, I have had more difficult journeys in the past ( going for the pre-op for my hip replacement which was at the farthest end of our borough - actually over both the borough and county borders and taking DS2 for a plastic surgery op in Altrincham to the south of Manchester which we managed by taking the train to the airport and then getting the bus back towards Manchester).
I have got used to taking my time getting up in the mornings and I hated having to travel in the rush hour when I was doing voluntary work in Manchester. The Thursday journey should be fairly relaxed. It's at 3.15 in the afternoon so as long as I am out of the house between noon and 1 pm I can take my time getting there and the roads will be fairly quiet then.
I think I raised it because it seems like something really extravagant but may actually be quite sensible. I have to take a tight fitting t-shirt that i can wear to sleep in (I only have one that's a bit tight) have this thing strapped on to me, presumably with wires going here there and everywhere and just having somewhere nice and quiet, convenient for the hospital, to get something to eat then go there and read or watch tv, sleep and then get up in time to wash myself and stroll round to the hospital.
I have been told not to rush back for my exercise/ information session (will be starting at 9.30 am back in Leigh) so I could take my time coming home as well. It's a bit like Kerry woman choosing to spend last night at a place near the airport in readiness for her flight today.
Mum suggested staying with DS1 and didn't understand when I explained that he's on the other side of Manchester entirely (might take even longer if I was starting from there). We shall see.
Forms have been completed and photocopied at the library (it was only the machine for paying that was broken - more for those who are printing things off from the computers) and I feel so much lighter (giddy and feel like skipping except I can no longer skip or jump). Going to walk round to the taxi place and book a taxi for tomorrow's funeral, no-one was answering when I phoned earlier.
Today i am grateful for lovely library staff (photocopies are a mum expense so another no spend day), my bed and good reading material. Have another couple of little things I would like to get out of the way and I must decide what I have that's suitable for a funeral (probably leggings with a dark top, I'm not one of the principals) then going to relax. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I am grateful for the rain watering my garden, for it not raining at break time so the kids all got outside, for dd having a much better day at school after a pretty grotty few days, for my head giving me leave to take dd to an eye appt later this month (only 2 hours away -max - and straightforward, just chocka with traffic), for my experimental fox sock going well (combining my fave sock pattern + a mitten pattern, adjusting for using different sized needles from the pattern...), for the countdown to Texas - 4 more sleeps.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi all
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can.
I spent a lovely evening with DP relaxing in front of the stove and chatting.
Persevere to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term.
I continue on my money saving adventure. I have formed the habit of bringing my lunch to work from last month's challenge and I continue to do so.
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume.
I am looking at what I throw out and thinking is there another use for the item.
Invest- in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you.
I've been for a walk this afternoon to build up my step count. I had some enjoyable mother and son time. I continue to record my food diary and battle the bulge:rotfl::rotfl:
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on.
I am trying to change my mindset, if I don't get all done in the day it is not a failing on my behalf. There is always a new day tomorrow.
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month.
I am still focused on that mountain I'm going to climb.

Hi all :j
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Appreciated trip out to lunch with family, no falling out which is a rare thing. Great food, very expensive and definitely ate too much....but saw how we (just DH & I) could go as a treat on our own. It was incredibly windy up on the tops where the restaurant is.
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Nothing done outside or inside today due to being out & then too full...but tomorrow both DH & DD are out for quite a while so I shall be on my own, which is a rare treat..
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Keep resisting buying more clothes etc, but that is difficult for me, am staying strong. It's not like I ever go very far tbh. No more food required for a fair while, we have loads.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Probably put back on that couple of pounds I took off but will persevere with it. Tried on some clothes to go out & wasn't happy with any of them, so more effort required.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Hopefully moving on with jobs outside & in over the next month.
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Need to decide on this.
NSDs: Still 2/15 as booked our next trip away today. Did go through TCB for both ferry & hotel though, had to book as a 25% offer we had expired at 11pm today.
Pay to your debt/savings first and move forward from there. Will need to pay for hols etc which I always put on cc. Paid off in full every month but I will try to pay for treats from 'my' money.
Have a budget and stick to it. On the list...still.
NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! Still plans to go out next week & now hols booked for 1st May.

Simplicity - I have been reading a lot this week and meditating. Grateful for being able to spend time with interesting people every day and getting a lot out of teaching even though my job exhausts me.
Persevere - I have been reading a lot in spanish and speaking every opportunity I get.
Reduce - Haven’t chucked any food so far this week.
Invest - Been in contact with my mum and sisters this week, reading a lot, mediating and relaxing.
New - No regrets about the past.
Grab - take life by the horns. Need to investigate my summer, want to do the camino de santiago for 4-5 days, a 10 day vipassana silent mediation and possibly a volunteer project. Need to do more research as time is running out. I want to take the 2 months to do something different, work on my writing and relax.

A super hectic weekend coming up for me as I drive back up to Glasgow and spend 48 hours visiting lots of friends and family. Unfortunately, both of these days will accrue spends but I should manage to keep them on the low.
Today will be #4 however I am always tempted to buy some sort snack for my 3.5 hour drive back home. I really shouldn't.0 -
Spendy day today, used a £10 Screwfix voucher to buy decking stain and some outdoor black spray paint to revamp our table and chairs, cost after the voucher was £4.98. Bought dog food at the feed store then after school called into Tesco and spent another £4.98.
Have walked the dog, cleaned and then dropped another large bag at the charity shop - that's the third one this week. Will wrap up and walk the dog again later then pj's, Netflix and a glass of wine.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Shrewbie - one of the camino routes through Lugo goes almost past my friend's ex's front door!!
Today I am grateful for having some lovely people be lovely to me, for a haircut, for an easy appt with the nurse, for getting lots of things done, for dd needing new specs - this should sort out her fuzzy vision, for planting some tatties, for catching up with a friend, for going in to town after sch meaning we don't have to go in on a Sat.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
shrewbie the walk sounds amazing. I’d love to do it one day. As does the meditation. Would definitely count as outside of my comfort zone.
No23 checking in. Busy week has meant low spends, but have done some ‘investing’ for the month (and next) by bulk buying chicken and sausages online. Bought wonky chicken breasts as they are £3 cheaper.
Simplicity- I’ve repurposed some old glass jars to put spices in. They look eclectic and very smart
Invest/persevere - DH and I have spent some time going over options for a project. It’s compliacted and it would have been easy just to not have the conversation. Hopefully it’ll save us money in the long run
Reduce - we’ve both been watching what we eat which in turn will reduce food bill. Have swapped mobile to sim only. Saving £20 a month which we will overpay mortgage.
So far so good.0 -
Wonky chicken breasts?!? How? Did they just not cut them straight...? Am intrigued...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
