Mobile Affiliates (CoolNewMobile+PhoneBoxDirect+Phones2YourDoor) in Administration

  • I'd read through Mobiles2yourdoor and mobilephonesonttheweb threads to see what happened on T-Mobile with Mobiel Connections two/three months back. Vodafone were great in the end - not sure any of the other networks were. Also a meeting in Parliament on Tuesday with MPs and the networks, apparently - so might be worth waiting until after that before deciding.

This may be a silly question, but here goes: In the CNM terms and conditions their was a term that stated (can't remember exact wording) that if you changed your tariff within 180 days they would charge you a large (over £100) amount of money. Will this still be valid now they are in administration?

No - the liquidator won't be interested at all.

At a bit of a tangent here but it might be of interest to people considering cash back deals eksewhere that before the current 'you lose suckers' notice was placed on the PBD web page the page said they were no longer trading and referring customers, by links, to 2 other sites. Buynewmobile was one and i think mobile outlet was the other. I will check on that and re post if incorrect.

Behind closed doors links between these cash back companies/directors?

    Hello Robert

Thanks for your email about the cashback offer you had been promised by Cool New Mobile.

Cool New Mobile has recently ceased trading and, we understand, will not be honouring their cashback offer to their customers. This offer was made by Cool New Mobile, not T-Mobile, and we're not able to either provide the cashback offer or terminate your contract. I?m sorry that you have been affected by this Robert.

Since Cool New Mobile is no longer able to support their customers, we'd like to deal with you directly, which means you are entitled to our current ?go direct? discount of £5 (including VAT) off your Flext line rental every month until you renew. Flext remains unique in the market as it automatically adapts to how you use your phone.

If you'd like to take up this offer, please contact us either by replying to this email or by calling our customer services team on 150 from your T-Mobile handset or on 0845 412 5000 from a landline (Calls are charged at local rate if you are a BT customer but if you're with another provider this may vary so do check). Calls to 150 are free of charge for our pay monthly customers. We're here every day from 7am to 10pm.

If you have any more questions, please visit our help & advice section by clicking here or simply reply to this email.

    Kind regards

Better than nothing I suppose. I have just over 3 months to run on a £30 a month contract.

Would you accept now or see if they give a better offer ?

What email address did you send your query to ? A copy of the email you sent would be useful also, just take out your personel details etc ;)

rang tmobile- offered £5 discount only on £35 tariffs

    better than nothing i suppose!
  • I got the same £5 line rental reduction offer and took it.
Initially T-Mobile said that Coolnewmobile were still trading, I told the young girl in customer services to check out their website and she phoned me back about 30 mins later and offered me the line rental reduction.
As you say, better than nothing!!

I did it through their web site so do not have a copy.

  • My mate has just been able to cancel his three mix and match tariff due to their recent change in their terms and conditions, so it saves him a lot of money :) So I think he is relatively happy.
Look here for further info regarding the change: http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113342
At least it then gives us some time to think about options etc :)
