Hi Lippyx - yep magicgirl and deni have explained it right. Every day we post our lists of the little money saving things that we do. We aren't strict on this so general "to-do" lists and general life updates or mse tips are welcome
It's a great place to inspire you onto the straight and narrow and pick up tips from other members.
All are welcome - the more the merrier!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Hello :hello:
Welcome to all newbies  I'm usually better at welcoming and keeping up with things on here than I have been lately. Must try harder.
Thanks all for the kind words - I just cannot wait until all the legal stuff is done and finished and I don't need to keep throwing money at the solicitors every month so I can get on with getting debt free and enjoying my life.
I am still tired and headachey - stressed. Just back from an annual vaccination trip to the vet with 3 cats - £156  Thankfully I had put the money to one side to cover that though. Not sleeping that well, but it is approaching the end of term so it will be nice to put my feet up. I'm also a bit out of routine this week as I have various appointments over the next three days, which can upset me a little bit.
Bought myself a wonky veg box from Mr A. Now just to figure out what to do with it. I always have more carrots and parsnips than I know what to do with....
HK - sorry, I did have a small giggle at the thought of being attacked by a 3 wheeled hoover spitting dust out everywhere... Hope the new one is as fun as a new hoover can be.Not giving up

You could do soup - carrot and coriander is lovely, as is curried parsnip soup. Both are easy and don't take long to make
Or roast them to go with whatever else you are having. Doesn't have to be a proper 'roast', they are lovely with sausages and gravy
Grated carrot is nice in sandwiches with other salad things
And parsnips and carrots will keep for a week or so in the fridge if they are in good condition. If they start to go bendy before you have time to use them, chop them up and freeze them to use later0 -
You could also do spicy stir-fried carrot ribbons as an accompaniment to something. Just top & tail the carrots, peel them, then use the vegetable peeler to make long ribbons. Heat a bit of oil in a wok, sizzle a tsp of cumin seeds, then chuck in the carrot ribbons. Add whatever further spices you fancy - chilli flakes, even a couple of pinches of curry powder plus seasoning, of course.
