    Hi March Money-Savers,

Morning!:coffee: Early to bed, early to rise...gives you black circles under the eyes.....

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 120/500 which is on track!

    * Make breakfast, lunch and dinner now in advance because we are going off to photograph red squirrels today. Free entertainment, ignoring the petrol costs and the cost of DW's camera kit.

    Morning everyone :)

Welcome to all the newbies, nice to see new names posting. It's a great thread, helps keep me on the straight and narrow.
I was going to post yesterday but everything that could go wrong, went wrong!

I've had to spend money on a new vacuum but got one that had great reviews, more practical for me and was reduced. The old one decided to throw alot of dust out, and just wouldn't work despite me checking and cleaning everything. The kitchen, me and the cats were all lightly covered but tbh it was whizzing around on 3 wheels after losing one and the catch to keep it upright often decided it wouldn't work so very often u would get hit by half a vacuum.
Despite packaging up a parcel twice to get things out of the house to a charity, it was still overweight so I've just popped it to one side.
    That was yesterday and more.
But checked banking and everything good and up to date
    Quidco all checked
I have nearly finished on a frog, hoping to finish this morning. This has been a nightmare frog so I will be very happy.
Need to get RM survey items sent today
Finished the last of my chicken casserole last night which was like a rubber casserole, just kept using it in various ways but it was great
Hoping for another nice day to get washing on the line.
    Heating off, windows open
I've given up on keeping spends logged for March, I just couldn't keep up so this month I've written off but I will be back to logging everything in April.
Right off to do cat cleaning and complete some paperwork I want to get in the post this morning
Have a great day everyone x

Dd was so tired last night she was nearly in years and then she woke at 4:45, she has had a couple of fixed since but she has been awake most of the time. She is going to really struggle with so little sleep.
I plan to spend lots of time with her today hoping she will tell me if something is bothering her.

The rest of my plans are:
Go shopping and stick to the list
    Put ALL the shopping away
    Stick to the meal plan
    Home educate children for free
DS to pack snacks and drink to take with him to his home education group this afternoon
Turn off lights and appliances when not in use, have noticed plenty of lights left on over the last few days, I suspect OH, he is away working for the next few days
    Do physio exercises
    PAD
    Record spending in diary
    Check bank accounts
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

    One
     income, home educating family

    Hi all,

Sorry for being AWOL but it was a very busy weekend and I was away for part of it. Still catching up on the thread, but needless to say, big hugs to anyone dealing with health issues, horrible exes or general life pants. Also big hugs to anyone who is cheerful and feeling the joys of spring!

Worked ourselves into the ground on Friday trimming all the tress in the garden. Much cheaper than paying for a tree surgeon to come though! Also ended up sorting a very cheap trip over to Leeds. Just the price of some nibbles and a couple of bottles of wine. I enjoyed a few drinks with my pal and no alcohol since as per my rules :)
OH had also noted that the cruise control is a bit gas guzzling, so despite the fact that he loves it, he's decided to mostly use the limiter instead. :money:

Also got rid of a frog conversation with my mil about the upcoming family holiday. I need her to make sure that fil can actually be insured with his health conditions. If not, bil and we will have to decide if we continue. Although we would lose some money, we would spend less overall by not going!

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores - done
    • Gym after work - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • OH to do housework - done
    • Heating off - done
    • Crochet - done
    • No alcohol - done
    • Check PMP - done
    • Ask OH to bring dry washing in - asked but her didn't
    • Attend Women in Maritime conference. Hopefully free coffee and cake - done
    • Ring cs to see if they will take a rug (small frog here :o ) - yes they can!

    Have a good one all

    Hey Lippyx
I am new myself but from what I have gathered, you try to take small steps to reduce spending or increase income to work towards your DF goal. The way I understand it is that we usually celebrate the big achievements but the small day to day things can make a differenece too and we should be giving those a thumbs up too so this is a thread to record and share the ideas that can help reach your goal.

I am sure others will explain more but the first thread gives a lot of info and another thread with links on various things you can do :)

Hi just plodding along while waiting for various big things to explode or be sorted. Not much I can do today. Hoping for a NSD day. Need to do meal plan to keep grocery budget in April with holls and uni boy home. DS offered to help cut up leftover branches from apple and oak tree, currently blocking up lawn. It will create a nice insect pile as too big for green bin and too small for firewood.

    Hi all :hello:

So a very busy few weeks behind me now, still busy coming up but less so! Been away for a couple of weeks too which was the reset button I needed!

    Small things done yesterday:
    - all meals from stores
    - not a lot else

Today I'm travelling, packed my lunch and snacks as the choice isn't brilliant around here (I would expense it otherwise so actually this is anti-MSE as I have used my own food. Ho hum). Will use the hotel gym tonight for some free entertainment :D

Hope everyone is having a good day :D

Welcome to newbies! I only joined a few weeks ago but you've explained it very well as far as i understand :)

I have washing on the line; going to have a proper look in the fridge and make veg lasagne for tea plus some for the freezer; plus see if there is anything else to make in advance.

Done one SB survey and bought a birthday gift for my friend via Quidco.

Managed to sort hospital appointment for DD2 which had been stressing me - double bonus as her dad will take her so i get a break from appointments and he pays for petrol/parking.

    Love to all

Rubber chicken day 3. I had the two legs with a salad for lunch. I made stock last night while I was cooking dinner, so that's all ready for dinner tonight. It's amazing how much meat you get when you start to pick over the bones. I normally use it to make some chunky soup, but variety is the spice of life so tonight I'm doing a risotto. It won't have wine in it like it's supposed to, but it'll be tasty nonetheless. I over-bought on the mushrooms last week, and they need using, so chicken and mushroom risotto (rice from stores) should do the trick.
I haven't had the heating on for a couple of days - it was a bit chillier today but I was out this morning, wouldn't normally have it on during the day anyway (except in the depths of winter, and then grudgingly!), and once I'm sat in front of the TV this evening my throw will keep me warm. I'm out most of the day tomorrow, so again no need - and the weather is supposed to be improving as the week goes on. Happy days.
After lunch I prepped a bit more of the garage. The wall was quite mouldy, so last night I sprayed it all, and I've given it a good wipe down. I was thinking about cracking on and painting it, but I think it could do with another spray of mould killer, just to be sure. Once it's dry from the washing down I'll spray again and leave it over night (which will turn into leaving it until Friday, as I'm out most of the day tomorrow and all day on Thursday).
The garage have promised faithfully that my car will be fixed by Friday. I hope they're right, as I need it over the weekend - or I need to make new plans if it's not going to be ready. Off to visit the parents on Sunday for mother's day, so will be really disappointed if I don't have the car (train is possible, but faffy - and at short notice it's likely to be expensive too!). At least with this delay it means I won't be paying for the repairs until after the next pay day!!
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...
