Morning Campers,
What a gorgeous day! Intending to make the most of it. The local bird population woke mr f at 5 a.m again, so he snuck off for a bath & by the time I woke up half an hour later, I was sharing our bed with the cat! Ice on the cars first thing, but warm enough now outside in just my cardi, so will enjoy it while it lasts. Good start to a frugalista day:
*Clean whole house using minimal products & washable cloths - Done all of downstairs except back lobby (mr f is going to bring the garden wheelie bin through later, so pointless vaccing that yet), conservatory (currently a storage depot for all mr f's work gear as he finishes his old job tonight & starts his new one on Mon). I now avoid lifting heavy Dyson upstairs because of my dodgy hand/s & so I'll vacc that tomorrow when it's been taken up for me. Good start though, & bathroom sparkling!
*mr f has volunteered to do the grocery shopping on his way home, so have furnished him with the list & budget target. Thinkit will go over, actually, as I want 2kg of pork shoulder for batch cooking a load of our favourite pulled pork recipe.
*Did a survey.
*Topped u some herb jars with home grown stuff.
*Topped up vintage glass decanter with el cheapo bubble bath.
*Topped up bird feeders. Have eeked out their seed mix with kitchen scraps.
*Offered to bake a treat for mr f to take in to treat his old colleagues - he was all set to buy a cake, but has settled on a tin of nice home baked biscuits, which will save on money, but also on plastic packaging.
*Mix up sourdough loaf to bake tomorrow morning.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & a packed breakfast as mr f has a conference 2 counties away.
*Free fitness edging rest of garden borders - only need to do the smallest flowerbed, the manky bit at the side of the greenhouse & my little herb garden. It's a good workout though, all that bending & stretching & trotting up & down to the compost bins.
*Pot up another tray of seedlings & water everything well.
*All free leisure today - I want to read my book, with the aim of being able to return it to its owner next weekend, knit a bit more of my 7th 2019 Stash Busting Challenge project & watch another episode of the Danish box set I'm working my way through.
Hope everyone is seeing at least a bit of this sunshine,

Afternoon all - after 9 hours and 47 minutes of glorious, uninterrupted sleep, I almost feel human again. Outside is 26ºC and broken clouds, so might venture out of my bunker at some point for a run. Or not. It's not as if I can go far, anyway... Maybe another nap :rotfl:
IT'S PAYDAY!!!
So the only plan for the day is to bask in the warm fuzzy feeling of having been paid. In a couple of days, once all the automatic transfers and direct debits are done, I'll see whether I need to do anything different.
Meanwhile, back in civilisation, my wife's planning to go shopping with friends, and I've got to remember to leave aside some cash for the kids' sports clubs and music lessons, which all fall due around about now, and which I forgot to put into the accounts program.
I cannot overstate how relaxing it is to take the effort out of handling money and throw it all over to the computers!0 -
Afternoon everyone
Lovely day here and I've had washing on the line everyday this week - finally got through all DD2s washing brought home from uni. I have done a couple of surveys this week although also got rejected from a few
I've just bought something for work via Quidco so a little bit of cashback on its way.
Had a spendy day yesterday as bought 2 new tyres. I didn't want to wait so walked over 3 miles home!! DD1 then gave me a lift back to the garage later.
Lots of inspiring stuff on here so i'm going to plan meals much better next week.
I think homemade biscuits is a much more thoughtful gift than a shop bought cake foxgloves
Happy Friday everyone

Evening all
Nice sunny day again
Cold first thing though
Didn't feel great when I got up, so did a few little jobs then went back to bed for an hour. OH kindly took my brother to work at stupid o'clock so I could do this. Then took a couple of paracetamol and I was ready to go!
Washed hair and left to dry naturally
Cleaned shower screen and bath panel
Stripped and remade bed
2 loads of washing done and dried outside
Listed 1 new item on ebay
Sorted out an old phone that has been lying around for my brother, as his won't hold a charge so he can't actually use it unless it is plugged in (where is that roll eyes smilie we used to have on here, because I could really do with it back. I wish he could sort just one thing out for himself!) Anyway, no cost involved as it is an old one that I used to use, and was just stuck in a drawer - so a small decluttering win.
Made some soup from the remains of a veg curry we had the day before yesterday. OH wasn't keen, but I thought it was ok. Had some for my lunch and froze the rest for another day.
Watered seedlings
Walked to Mr S this afternoon with OH, the dog and my shopping trolley for the few bits of shopping I need for the weekend. Free exercise for the 3 of us, fuel saved and we didn't have to worry about the horrendous traffic in the town centre (ongoing roadworks). Bought some YS mince which I will convert into a big pot of chilli tomorrow
Had roasted veg with slices of pork loin for dinner, with broccoli and gravy. Used up some of my parsnip mountain - neighbour brought some round yesterday, and I already had some in the fridge
Brought washing in, folded and put in airing cupboard (no ironing needed today :T)
Aiming for an early night as it is my turn to take brother to work tomorrow morning, thankfully at a more civilised hour as it is the weekend!0 -
Morning all :hello:
Small list for today as we have family coming over which will be most of the day, but obviously a nice thing today. Other small wins:
Check £co to ensure something has tracked I bought online yesterday
Vacuum through
Clean bathroom
Wash hair with shampoo bar
Lots of washing, all will be pegged outside
Smalls to prepaid activity
Carry on tracking food, be mindful wth what I eat. Lost 5lb in 2 weeks since I've been doing this
Open some windows and let the fresh air in
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
I woken feeling shattered.
Today I plan to:
Check bank accounts
Move money around
Talk to OH about where we are regarding money as it was pay day on Friday - first payment out is 5th
Find envelope and stamp for OH, as he needs to return a dd mandate, frustratingly the company insists on posting out the form and you returning by post
Home educate the children for free
Make porridge
Make bread
Turn off lights and appliances not in use
Children to make cards for my Mum for tomorrowFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family0 -

Morning all
Small list today as DD will no doubt be coming round with the little ones shortly.
Up early to take brother to work
HG cooked fruit from freezer for breakfast instead of bought fresh fruit
Big pot of chilli on the stove. Incorporated some frozen chopped peppers of various colours plus a small tub of beef stew frozen ages ago.
Wash over kitchen floor
Rest of washing, all to be pegged outside
No spends today unless GD asks for a 'magazine' from the corner shop
A bit of cleaning if I get the chance
Pick up brother from work this afternoon, unless OH volunteers. He may do, as he was muttering about going out to do / get something later
Update spreadsheet later0
