    Hello
Well, I have had a pretty busy week all in all. I wish I could report it had been more mse than it has been, but I have done a bit of extra earning through tutoring and got lots of little things out of the way (like dentist and vets appointments etc), so frogs gone but so has the last of this months money,
Waiting for Mr S to deliver this week's shopping - I see prices creeping up as well - luckily for the moment my freezers are pretty full so it's just the essentials for the kids at the moment. Dawn, you have reminded me that I have 6 bananas that are fairly desperate for using up. I love banana bread - hopefully I have the stuff in to make some because I quite fancy it now.
Not lots of mse stuff going on but lots of organising and sorting, and frog munching. And I'm using my very sparse free time to use up my wool stash a la Foxgloves, and have also decided to learn Bulgarian via a free app. So I suppose it's partly frugal.

Got the Sky sorted. He tried to charge me a £20 admin fee, but I said the email had told me it would be £10, so he only charged me £10. Honestly, you have to watch them every step of the way. As per previous posters, I'll be watching the account like a hawk to make sure the right amounts go out.

Still waiting for money from an insurer - their driver hit my OH's parked car, and they agreed 10 days ago to pay our uninsured losses (amounting to the grand total of £20!!). They have a copy of the receipt, our bank details, our postal address (really don't know why they needed this!), but still no money!! I sent them an email today, will follow up with a phone call if they haven't paid by this time next week.
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...
  • Morning :D has been lovely wasting 20 minutes catching up with the thread :D

I woke up at 4.30 today! I can't complain as Friday night was out and then up drinking with girl friends until about 4am so yesterday I slept on and off throughout the day (I am so lucky to have such a generous and kind partner!) and then went to bed at 7.30. So feeling very rested!

Got to go and get ready for work :( have put my packed luynch together - B/L/D as won't be home until after 8pm....

I will hang out washing shortly and ask oh to get in later

give oh a little reminder of things we need to use up. If I don't he will always just go for what he wants/what is easiest and things end up perishing....

I've paid a builder and my cc card (0% card for 28 months which I have bought my lovely sewing machine)

If I get time at work/if it's a slow day I will do some research for a job I'm applying for....

taking soil and rooting powder to work as want to make a cutting of a plant in an office :D

If I have any inclination/energy tonight I will sow some seeds :D

Ok better go. Can hear madam stirring upstairs :D

Morning DNMS and all who follow. Lovely when you wake up feeling refreshed whatever the time is :)

I too can hear a small stirring or maybe it's the cat :p

Yesterday we ended up going to the yellow and blue Swedish place to look at a piece of furniture. Completely changed our minds on what we had originally gone to look for but will be cheaper in the end :money: didn't by it yesterday or loads of other useless stuff as can happen in these places :A we're going to measure and go back another time. So you may some repetitions on my list from yesterday as I didn't get it all done.

    Bake a cake
Peg another load of washing out (did dry 3 loads yesterday outside though :T)
Roast for tea, all homemade. Will use some yorkies left from last week that are in the freezer. Have some crumble mix left from last week too.
    Run
Hopefully knit tonight now the evenings are lighter
    Homework (smalls not mine :rotfl:)
Get packed lunches ready for tomorrow, make a quiche if I have time

Have a good day folks. Purps.

    Morning Daffodils,
    On today's list:
*Get pork cheeks & veg prepped & into slow cooker for a stew for tonight's meal.
*Put washer on timer for. Economy 7 overnight laundry.
*Low spend day as just need to pop to village garden centre for coriander & red spring onion seeds.
*Big useful veggie garden day planned so that will also be today's free fitness. 2lb off this week once I started being serious about my calorie tracking book & stopped cheating.
*Synchronise our diaries for the week ahead.
*Cast on 2019 Stash Knitting project #7, which will be a little ribbed cardi.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
    OK, better get some coffee.

Morning all. Gorgeous, sunny morning here :j

    Work today :(

NSD didn't happen yesterday. Caved in and bought chips to eat with the kids while watching a film. Not a major spend and worth it. Chips made at home just don't taste the same somehow.
    Today:
All meals from stores. Easy as at work, and no canteens open at weekends. No tempting all day breakfasts :p
Check online banking and update spreadsheet.
Leave washing to dry outside in sunshine.
Put washing away when home from work.
That's about it for today. Typical that the weather improves now when I'm in work
    Have a good Sunday :T

  • Morning all, lots of early risers for a Sunday!
MSE things i have done so far over the weekend - drying 2 lots of washing on the line - DD2 home from uni with tons of washing which i've been getting through all week; shop for household essentials plus supplies for the next few days from Mr Ts including cat food and used a £5 voucher plus £1 off cat food (remembered to take with me at last!); done a SB survey; looked on i-say but no eligible surveys yet...
Going to make butternut squash risotto for DD2 and friend and will make extra for DD1 and her friend. Hoping for NSD although tin opener broke so need to buy a new one at some point.
Got lots of work to do today for my 2 x self employed jobs plus mum's taxi needed.
    Have a good day everyone

    Evening all :)
Quiet thread today, after early morning rush :rotfl:
    Today was like this:
Early start as we went to a market / flea market. Bought a few bits to sell on, plus bargainous bacon, cheese, sausages and tinned goods from one of the market stalls :)
Biz paperwork done, spending diary updated
Contacted ex mortgage company, to check if PPI was added at any point. It was arranged through a broker, and we just went along with the process. Probably wasn't added, but it seems just as well to check.

    Dog walk, free exercise :)

    Leftovers for lunch
Some gardening using plants / tools / compost etc that I already have, so no extra costs there
    Sold 3 ebay items :)
Listed 1 new item, must do better tomorrow!
It was warm and sunny, and I didn't fancy doing a full roast dinner, so I roasted the small joint of beef I had got out of the freezer quickly in a hot oven (can only do this with certain cuts). Took it out while rare, and rested for 20 mins. Then got OH to slice it really thinly, and we had it piled onto warm rolls with HM coleslaw and salad on the side :) Plenty for 3 of us - my brother joined us for dinner, as he often does on Sundays - and there is enough left for lunchtime sandwiches tomorrow :)
Heating is off, but we have lit the stove this evening, as it does get chilly still once it starts to get dark. Dog was obviously feeling the cold as he purloined a blanket from the back of the chair, now made into a nest on the chair, with dog in the middle of it :rotfl: He is very small, and doesn't do cold, wet, snow, wind, leaves or other unfavourable climate or seasonal related events. It must be spring though, as he is content with his blanket nest as opposed to actually getting inside the fender as he often does :rotfl:

Kettle is on top of the stove for free hot water :)

    Evening all.
Dining room smells lovely of line dried clothes. Some bits done towards DFW, while big stuff is pending and this is making me very unfocussed.
