I’m annoyed at myself for popping into Aldi for bits I needed and ending up spending £17.81 when I could have got away with change from a fiver. I suppose these habits will take a while to build, and the store cupboard food I was going to cook before I got tempted by burgers, brioche buns etc will still be there for another day.
Finished and submitted cv for the part time job I really want.
Walked dogs.
Sent in meter readings.
Watered seed pots in greenhouse.
Took kids to Tae kwondo (already paid as it is a monthly charge)“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” 🐠https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6098084/discount-duck-s-quest-for-mortgage-freedom#latest0 -
Hmm am overwhelmed by amount of big stuff I constantly need to sort out. Dog is happy though and looking smart after trim.
Another trip w students but ended up dropping lots of money: £4 coffe and super delish pastry. £8 parking(will get refund) £4 on boots meal deal on way home.
Carpool tomorrow will save back about a £5 though along with an environmental brownie.
Ate chili from freezer, cleaned kitchen
Walked 10.000 steps
Evening walk w dog
Dropped son off to school and picked him up from sports club, nice to be useful every once in a while
Still in awe of people able to stick with a budget!
On my list of things to get is a passport, a provisional license (Theory +test), printer ink, more revision guides, buss pass, leggings, and that seems like just an other month! Long drive to get uni boy ...

Morning ladies,
Had an ok dfw day yesterday sorted out the cupboard under the stairs....i think i nearly found Narnia :rotfl: i threw out loads so another trip to the tip the weekend for me!! I did find 2 tins of biscuits from xmas never opened...one tin has now been destroyed by dd :rotfl:the other will be put away for a time when we have visitors. Also found some bits for my friends daughter, not exactly money saving but i would rather know they are going to a good home instead of being sold for 99p when they cost me a lot more...i just dont have any luck with selling sites.
Todays plan
• all meals from stores, i am still deciding on ohs dinner i am having left over bolognese on jackets from yest tea, dd will have jackets too but ih doesn't like it.
•work all day, free hot drinks so i plan om topping up loads
•pop into shop before work for squash and tea bags....and only that
•having smart meters installed this evening so hopefully will help keep on track with gas and electric
•going to give myself a manicure this evening as my nails are too long and need some tlc
•usual cleaning and maybe a load of washing will try and dry it on airer after work
•do shopping list for this week
And that is all...i suppose i need to go and get ready for the day...seriously not feeling it today!!
Have a great one x0 -
Morning,
Yesterday went to plan and I managed to do everything I needed to.
I had my nails done but I didn't pay for them, my friend paid for me as a treat which was lovely and such a nice thing to do.
After I ended up nipping into home bargains and came out with plenty of stuff I didn't need but now I'm well stocked up on certain items. I also did a small food shop at Aldi and bought essentials and whatever we needed for dinner.
My manfriend came over and I cooked us both steak which went down well. We then watched a couple of documentaries on the TV and chilled out which was nice.
Today has started off okay.
I had to go to an appointment at the hospital for some treatment, I'm back again next week and will see how things go.
It's my friends birthday and she liked the gifts I bought her which is good. I'm glad I got myself organised and planned ahead.
I've not much else planned for the rest of the day. I just want to take it easy.- Order contact lenses.

Another busy day - in the garage by 8am, getting an hour's prep under my belt before going to the gym. Off to the gym for 9.30, home and in the shower - although I don't know why I bothered as I was back in the garage by 11working up a sweat again!!
Lunch (rubber chicken day 4) was chicken sandwiches with some leftover stuffing and some chutney from stores, and a couple of tomatoes.
This afternoon I've taken a break from the garage to make a couple of phone calls - one to the auction to say I can't get along to pick up my money (because the car's poorly), so can they put it into my bank account - yes they can, so that saves a job and a drive in the car that I don't currently have. The other phone call was to the garage to say go ahead with the cheap and cheerful parts. It's going to take a few days, so it'll be good practice for me to see if I can actually manage without a car. When I look at how much it's costing me to run, what with finance, insurance, tax (it's a diesel) etc etc, I think I could pay for an awful lot of taxis out of that!!
Next job is to scoot up to Home Bargains (it's within walking distance) to get one or two things - I was going to use my Asda voucher, so I need to remember to use that up as soon as poss 'cos you lose it if you don't use it within 28 days of printing it. I can't get to Asda without the car, and the stuff I need can't wait.
Then I'll be back down into the garage and hopefully have the job done before I go out tonight.
It's a works do, and I'm the one that's organised it, so can't really not go!! I'll just have the vegetarian main (usually cheaper than the meaty meals, and I like veggie food even though I'm not a veggie) and I won't bother with a starter or a sweet. Ironic that I'll have to take a taxi, but I don't want to be spending money on alcohol!! Normally I would drive, so wouldn't be drinking anyway. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -

Brr it isn't warm and sunny here CLF

Going to light the stove in a minute!
Nothing much today:
Posted 2 ebay parcels
Listed 4 more items
Went to sales unit to tidy up whilst out (it is only round the corner from the post office). Pleased to see that a few items had sold since Monday
Did some paperwork for my business
Messaged plumber about low hot water flow since he serviced the boiler. He can't come to look at it till 27 April. Always the way, find someone good and after a while they are inundated with work and hard to get hold of . Good for him I suppose.
Made enquiries about getting some duvets washed / cleaned. Too big for me to do unfortunately. I did investigate a local launderette but it was seriously rank in there  And I don't think the machines had a large enough capacity in any case. One company wanted £26 each to wash and tumble them  It is probably cheaper to buy new ones, but that is just wrong. I don't 'do' landfill unless absolutely necessary, so now looking at another company, waiting to hear back from them. If all else fails I will have to wait for a hot day, wash them in the bath and get OH to wring them out!
Leek and potato soup bubbling away on stove. Using up last of HG leeks, from freezer. They are a bit smelly in the freezer. Don't think I will freeze them again!
All food from home, and nothing spent today except for ebay postage and that is a) a business cost, and b) paid by the buyer in any case
