Made enquiries about getting some duvets washed / cleaned. Too big for me to do unfortunately. I did investigate a local launderette but it was seriously rank in there  And I don't think the machines had a large enough capacity in any case. One company wanted £26 each to wash and tumble them  It is probably cheaper to buy new ones, but that is just wrong. I don't 'do' landfill unless absolutely necessary, so now looking at another company, waiting to hear back from them. If all else fails I will have to wait for a hot day, wash them in the bath and get OH to wring them out!
Hi Dawn,
A couple of suggestions - I have done mine in the bath. I wash and wring them by treading it like grapes. Much easier than swooshing by hand.
Also, if you get new ones, I saw a suggestion on the OS board to by 3 or 4 thin ones and pin them together. That way, you can wash them at homeLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Thanks CLF, we will probably end up doing them in the bath. I shan't be replacing them, as I really hate the idea that things should be disposable in such a way.0

Hi DawnW about your comforters, find a laundrette with large machines and do a hot wash before you put your duve's in! And remember a tennis ball for the dryer! Just thinking. Doing it in the bath tub is not worth it! Had an actual and real NSD day, got a lift to work, made dinner from bits and bobs in fridge. So now on to the big things like find receipt from parking yesterday and a bit of vacuuming.
Oh and ebay.
Secretly as always hoping for a non agency day tomorrow, but looking forwards to pay from last week.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Sorry for my absence over the past few days. I thought I was getting back on track but I've been so busy at work this week - then I got home tonight to a solicitors letter with a court date, so I've spent most of the evening sorting out paperwork, printing stuff off and filling in a massive financial form. I'm relieved and stressed out in equal measures, but at least there is some progress. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi, a NSD for me - got given lunch at work and made tea from stores. Been in a meeting most of the day and working this evening so not much opportunity to spend anyway! Dried washing on the line - beautiful day here.
Very spendy yesterday as DD2's birthday and took both daughters and partners out for tea. Reigned in spending on presents but she was very happy with her gifts.
Nite all

As soon as I came on for a catch up I popped off to check quidco after seeing Allyslist. Quidco is always something I forget to check. Have a small payout waiting but will leave for now to allow to it to build up.
DawnW I will be pinching the porridge, rhubarb and Greek yogurt combo. Sounds fab, and will be ideal once ive finally had the surgery.
CCL it's horrible what u are going thru and it's wrong what ur having to go thru but at least when its sorted, it should be sorted but I know it's easier said than done.
Not alot going on here at the minute.
Catching up on work frogs-nearly sorted one, will be relieved when it is done and sorted
A little bit more decluttering done, just a small amount when looking for something else
Monthly doc check up today
Heating off and kept a window open all night. Even though it was a little cold getting up I slept better
Need to pop to Tesc@ for cat food tins after docs. Still the cheapest place to buy the tins
Going to get the slow cooker working today and make a chicken casserole
Have a few bits to send to a charity, hoping to get that sorted later with Tesc@ being kind and having boxes out-need a couple
Need to really sort out writing a letter back to a friend. She refuses to do emails and it is nice to get a hand written letter. I dont mind writing back but can be abit lax sometimes.
RM surveys are back up to date
That's about it from me, have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

On the small things I'll be planning a menu for april, as uni boy home and want to stock up sensibly
Look to getting a bread machine
Make pizza dough in a bit so I can have a pre-dinner drink w neighbour this afternoon

Set up new bank account w savings account and start my emergency fund
Hmm might bake a cake for the weekend :-)
Hope everybody is enjoying the longer days.
I am trying to join a running fb club where i live, but have not managed so far because of too many other things sort of going wrong and dragging on.

Afternoon all

Spendy day today  Bought some herb plants, plus lots of fruit and veg at the market (£8.44 for 2 huge bags, can't moan at that, plus they gave me extra bananas) but - here is the really spendy part - I have also paid for a school trip for GD2, for her birthday and to help out her parents who are struggling a bit with their business, plus a planning application and associated expensive headaches. Lovely to be able to do that, makes all the frugal stuff worthwhile
Not much apart from that:
Accepted a reasonable offer on an ebay item
Last brown banana for breakfast - now have another huge pile of bananas on account of being given extras at the market. Must make banana bread!
Used up some of that cheese with cranberries in it (inexplicably purchased by OH, who never eats such things :rotfl:) for lunch, with some rice cakes.
Dinner will be shepherds pie with mixed root veg mash on top
RM surveys stuff done
Repotted the 3 little herb plants I bought at the market (a new sage, as mine is on its last legs and my cuttings didn't take, a lemon balm for the bees, and a lovage because I was intrigued by its celery scent)
Moved some other, surplus herb plants (self sown or grown from cuttings) into a container for DS's girlfriend's garden, as hers have died
Moved a viola plant into one of the front garden pots as it was looking a bit bare (no cost as I already had the plant)
Watered everything that needed it in the garden
Put some manure round the minaret fruit trees at the back of the raised bed
Better go and look for the banana bread recipe, and use up some of those free bananas!0
