    Helloooooooooooooooo :D

I've been very un-OS today, I've dried 2 loads of washing the the dryer

The heating man is coming tomorrow, he's a couple of days late but he has good reason - he ordered the part (I know this cos I was there when he ordered it) but the man he spoke to completely forgot to send it cos minutes after he jotted the order down, he had a call from his wife to say she'd gone into labour :T :rotfl:

Mr tru has gone to Morrisons on his own - I'm feeling very very nervous...........:D

Afternoon all - or is it early evening? I've already put the lamps on. Some sort of made-up chicken dish is in the oven - it smells lovely so, if it turns out OK, I'll have to give it a name. I've wrapped several Christmas presents but the spare room looks as if a bomb has hit it now. I don't want to have to clear it up properly - the idea is to be able to shut the door on it, so I can pick up where I left off tomorrow. I'm glad I've made a start and I found things I'd completely forgotten I'd bought!

I've also done some work this afternoon and typed up some of DH's invoices - the office needs another tidy up, though. Another job for tomorrow once I've been shopping and visited the gym.

HARIBO - I love your new car!

Well, I suppose I'd better go and get the roasties in the oven and draw all the curtains. Can't believe how quickly it gets dark these days!

Hope everyone who is poorly is feeling better today. Have a great evening - I will, Ice Road Truckers is on tonight. I love that!

    May pop in later.

I had a very harrowing afternoon at work.
I was called to the medical room as I'm a first aider, there was a 12 year old boy in there in tears, I know him well, he lives not far from me & has a very dysfunctional family. When I asked him why he was crying he showed me a text message from his Mum to say she was leaving & would be gone by the time he got home! I gave him a hug, which is strictly not allowed & tried to think of something to say. I explained that even grownups sometimes have problems & that his Mum loves him very much. When he asked why she's texted him instead of telling him this morning before he left for school, I told him that she probably didn't want to see him cry as it would break her heart to see him cry. I was at a loss really. I know enough to know that his Mum does love him. I was desperate not the damage the already tenuous relationship he has with his Mum. I feel as a first aider I am inadequately prepared to deal with this sort of thing, I just did my best as a Mum.

On a lighter note, one of our 6th formers wanted handcuffs & a Police Uniform for Children in Need & our receptionist sent her to me saying, 'If anyone knows where to get that sort of thing Hester will!

    Have a good evening all.
    Hugs Hester

    evening all

had a sweet and sour day today - a colleague shifted some of the chairs around in court and I asked her to put them back as it's been set up that way by risk assessors and is a detainee court. Well she went into one in front of everyone and all day people have been coming up to me with their version of what happened - by the end of the day it was a full on physical cat fight according to gossip - bl**dy hell - I left the playground many years ago ta! My favouritest judge called me an angel and whilst I speculated with my friend about his marital status she told me that he is not single and that she tells me this nearly every day and that i am in denial - well I deny it so there!

exh has invited himself round for tea which I have told him he has to bring. He will call me in half an hour to let me know if he can't bring fish and chips - he's very poor again sadly - so I'm trying to think of a poorish dinner which won't land me in a child custody court but will show him that he doesn't know the meaning of the word poverty and that an extra £100 pcm would help. beans on toast i think
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    hi all

harduphester--I think you managed the situation marvelllously, the best way to deal with this sort of thing, if from a Mum's point of view

steph---Don't you hate office politics, or in your case court politics:mad: It the one thing I hate about going to work.. Give your oh some paste sandwiches and tell him to cough up for the £100 pcm. If he is getting £3,000pcm he can well afford it:eek:

twink---why do you put an egg in the sheperds pie mash??

pink-glad your ds is on the mend x

I had a call from fil at work today, ds2 had been sent home from school with a tummy bug, I got there at 2.15 and he looked really pale and washed out. He has had something to eat and is playing on ps3 in bed at present. He wants to be ok for tommorow as it is non uniform day and they are doing children in need things :A

hugs to everyone who needs them and that I have missed

    Hi all OSers
been having a mega catchup as w*rk has changed the firewall so that although i can access MSE I can't get on the forums.. its a real pain cos i miss you lot even though I dont post much.
Since there is an interest in wildlife.. we have a pair of brown buzzards in the field, plus loadsof blackbirds, spadgers and crows. There is a robin in the barn too - but I'm not sure if hen or !!!! yet - haven't had a close enough look to see the colour. Its cheeping and crapping all over the stables though!!
We had a Bill Oddie style starling display last night , and again tonight. not massive quantities but spectacular none the less. And tonight a big dog fox crossed the field just as we were finishing mucking out.. treated us with so much distain it wasn't real.. checky so and so. At least I know whats been digging in the muck heap now.
Hugs to any that need them.. offrto make something to eat for when Mrs Mehefin gets back from circuits..
