  • Morning all,

Major OS day here. The painter finished yesterday, but I haven't been able to do anything all week - and you know what it can get like after 3 days of doing nothing:eek: I have to put the furniture back including a wardrobe:rolleyes: and do a major tidy, wash and bake. The kids are having school dinners today as there isn't anything baked in at all, including no bread. Dh is in Warrington today via Birmingham yesterday. I normally sleep badly when he's away - but he has a cold at the moment, so I actually got a good night's sleep - even though I was reading a new Paul Doherty from the library just before I went to sleep.

Had a lovely breast of lamb roasted on a bed of potatoes, carrots and onion last night - tonight will probably be spag bol as we have to collect dh from the airport at 8pm.

Nearly an emergency here this morning - ds1 has a non uniform today - and we only remembered as he was leaving that his bus pass, smart dinner card and house keys were in his blazer pocket - still better than remembering at the bus stop:D

Hugs to all who feel ill.

Penelope Penguin - enjoy your weekend
Pink - hope Adam is still recevering

    Have a good day

  • Cold and frosty today, I've had to put me vest on.

Nice quiet day to myself -two youngest aren't due out of school till 4 today so I won't have to juggle my breadmaking around the school run.

    To do
    Tesco
    butcher's
    farmshop

make bread -loaves and possibly rolls
    Breakfast -kids had bacon sandwiches
Lunchboxes -pitta with cheese in, flapjacks, apples and clementines
Supper -sausages and mash, veg and probably a pudding of some sort -something hot and comforting.

    Good morning!
A flying visit again, as I am getting stuck into de-cluttering: we had a BHF charity bag through the door which is being collected on Friday. Its an ideal opportunity to pass on bits and pieces, especially as I can't take stuff to the shop (not able to drive ATM). I am rather enjoying being ruthless!

Eating out of the freezer again tonight - a spicy bean casserole.

Still haven't been able to put Tuesday's Tesco delivery tins, jars and bottles away - I can't open the back door or unlock the garage, and I can't carry much either. If OM, DS1 and DS2 (all big, strapping men) continue to ignore the 8 boxes in the hall tonight I am going to build the tins into a blockade.

Right, off to dye my roots one handed - I love a challenge!

    Have a great OS day!

    morning all,

THICK frost here this morning, have just been out to give the birds the bread, we get lots too, got lots of bird feeders on the tree, we get all sorts, and untill recently we had a beautiful greenfinch comming in everyday, untill I went in the garden and found its head  , one of the neighbourhood cats had got it :o , we also have a friendly squirel, who is using my pots for his winter storage, have just watched him burrying something else, last year he burried a walnut and it has grown into a tree :D .

Off to work today, got sainsbugs comming tonight, hope I get some more freebies :D , someting and chips for tea will have a look in freezer.

Yesterday I booked a boat trip up the thames with a flight on the london eye after :T , its a suprise for DD's birthday which is at the end of this month, after the eye, we are going to harrods to see the xmas lights, onto Hard Rock Cafe for early tea then home, can't wait, got the river cruise and eye tickets for £50 for the three of us, not a bad price.

Donny, safe trip home x Bridge was amazing
Anniebooklover :T to your DS xx

Hugs to all those feeling under the weather.

Has anyone cooked a goose before, have got one for xmas, but am not sure how to cook it xx

    Good Morning All

I needed the last few days to get my head together and get things done. Im still not right, and I guess I wont be. But at least a few things are slowly falling into place. It seems that once I get 1 thing sorted, something else crops up and slaps me back down! But I guess thats LIFE! Anyway Im back! I'm just about coping!

Anyway a huge thank you to those who PM'd me or just sent general messages regarding my well being or just general hugs! Its much appreciated!

But my biggest thank you goes to DLB, for being such a wonderful neighbour, listening to my moans! And especially for yesterday for helping with the installation of my new cooker! Yes - after 4 weeks, it finally arrived. After much hassle and loads of phone calls, we got there in the end! Bottle of wine coming your way again soon! Cheers bab!

I'm sorry if Ive missed the last few days, Im not sure of everyone's news, whether good or bad, but (((hugs))) anyway for those who need them!

Its my DD 8th birthday on Saturday! I cant afford a party for her this year, so we've decided that we will spend the day in Sheffield. Bowling first, (family ticket for 4, to play 2games is £20) then off to Meadowhall for something to eat in the Oasis, then a small play in the arcade area upstairs. Then home to watch x-factor and eat loads of popcorn!

Amie - had a dream the other night! This time it wasn't about Liam from Corro! But Jimmy King from Emmerdale. I dumped OH for makin mash potatoes with chocolate spread, and ran straight to Jimmy! :rotfl:

Chicken curry & naan bread for dinner later.
    Have a great day all

Hi CRAZY - good to hear from you. Glad you've finally got your cooker! Hope life is looking up for you.

ANNIEBOOKLOVER - that story sounds brilliant - what an imagination!

SCUZZ - (((hugs))) to your Nan.

Well, I've just finished the ironing - only a little pile but I'm determined to keep it down from now on. I've cleaned the bathroom and tidied upstairs, prepped the veg for dinner - I've got some chicken breasts which I'll make a sauce for and shove in the oven with some roasties and we have left-over pear and plum crumble for pudding. I've never mixed pears and plums before and it was so tasty.

I'm now going to wrap up warm and go and get the paper. Really cold and frosty still but lovely blue sky and very sunny - perfect for a walk. Then, I shall come back, have a coffee and start on the Christmas wrapping. I know, once I've started it, it'll get me on a roll - I plan to do some every day from now on.

Anyway, off to put my 'face' on so see you all later.

Ellie2912 - thanks for the offer - he's actuallly in Daresbury, but not many people round here have ever heard of it, so I generally say Warrington..
