I'm off to work soon, heaven knows what the lodger will do today, she disappeared for 25 mins yesterday & her class ran riot. She said she was photocopying, but no one could find her. I think she was just late, she really has no concept of time keeping.
Thick frost on the car here this morning, it took ages to clear.
    Have a good one everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • Goooooood morning everyone! Crisp and cold here, but I like it like that :D First day of my weekend, so a Happy Penguin :j

Big OS day today, as DH is off tomorrow and has promised me a walk in the hills (only wee ones around here :o ) finished off with *tea and buns* :T So, lots of housework (I'll post you a list of what I did, later, Haribo :p), bread rolls and cake to bake. DH and I plucked a brace of pheasant last night, so I'll be cassseroling them for the freezer.

I had a good surf yesterday looking for patterns for a tank top and some gauntlets to knit. I have loads of oddments of wool to use, to thought some stripy gloves would go down well.

Shez, will you be posting the pic of Mr and Mrs Junkie's new vehicle

    Morning Everyone:wave:

BBrrrrr!!!! Frosty White here in Ye Olde London Towne! Ive put some bread out for the robin but its probably more like ice cubes now! Where I live we get blue tits, sparrows, magpies, wood pigeons (arent they Big?!) - I know I'm not in the country but its not bad for a city. I think they like my garden cos its the only one with a very small patch of grass to look for worms - others have paved theirs over.

Yesterday I made Twinks Fruit Cake:T it didnt sink, tasted yummy twink! only prob I had was it got a little bit too cooked on the outside, which is a problem I always get with the fan-oven:o  and I only had it on 100deg for 1.20min!!!

Must get down the gym today, havent been this week:o

I'm not really gettin into I'm a celeb this time:confused: but I do enjoy Heroes!

DG - lovely picture of the bridge wow!

(hugs) to all those not feeling well xx

    have a good day everyone:wave:

Stefejb, I saw that your DGS likes daleks..(or was it garlic) anyway, have you seen the link that Peem did on the knitting thread.....exterminit.....

    .

yes i did see these and if I ever escape from christmas sock knitting hell they will be my next project. Dgs did exactly as predicted yesterday and ran straight for the "garlic" and then ate (well licked the icing off) 5 of the fairy cakes I had brought in fro my friend. will probably get into trouble today cos they came and met me from work and sat in the office while i logged out - not normally a problem but some very senior mangers walked in as we were leaving

Am in court today with my very favouritest judge so should be a nice day as long as no one kicks off for once. Will then pop into matalan for some more school jumpers - dd is paying for these though - she has lost 4 since the beginning of term - yes they do have her name in but are hiding somewhere in the ether. have a good day everyone

  • Morning all :hello:

Haven't posted for a few days - I see I managed to miss some major problems. Glad to see its almost back to normal now.

((((hugs)))) to all those feeling poorly/fed up/dealing with bad news, etc.
Congratulations to anyone with something to celebrate.

Busy day today. Job no 2 (yuk) then the school run then a governor's meeting, home to grab something to eat before DS and I go to see Bill Bailey tonight. :j Found out that the headteacher who will be at the governor's meeting is also going tonight - then again it seems that half of Preston is going.

    **Proud Mum Alert***
DS had to write a short story as part of his English GCSE coursework and the story had to have a twist at the end. DS wrote about a story describing the pain a man experienced after an accident with one of those steam vents in New York. It was incredibly descriptive. His twist was that the man was responsible for the safety of these pipes and had decided to make cutbacks and cream off the money for himself. He got an A*. :j

Right, I'm off now as I'm trying to get as organised as possible. Have a thrilling Thursday one and all. xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Morning!

Cold and frosty here! After I have walked the puppy I have another dentist appointment, at least I don't have to pay parking with this one and there is an Asda (with all it's bargains) near by to pop into after.

The banana bread in the panny recipe worked really well and so easy so I may make up another one for the freezer.

Hope everyone is starting to feel better now after that rotten bug that is doing the rounds.

(((Hugs))) Penny pincher, CM, Adam, Haribo, Tru, GrannyB and anyone else that needs one.

    Take care

    Catz x

    Good morning everyone,

Still not good here, children being silly still (now been since Sunday) must admit, im being as stubborn as they are, so i guess thats were they get it from. My friend is going to have a chat with them later, i think they now need someone to explain exactly why im upset, and how they are behaving - if i try it, then i know i will end up shouting again which will defeat the object, so hopefully my friend will manage what i cant!!!

I have a day off today, as LO is at her dads, so im going to catch up on the comps, and really do need to do some housework - although i did do the downstairs dusting yesterday. Im also planning to finish writting my xmas cards, and maybe wrap the presents ive already bought. I think im almost done, after my shopping trip on Tuesday, although i do know there are some people i havnt bought for, but hopefully nothing too big. I can also see what i have for my 2, i think im just about done there as well, maybe a couple of stocking fillers to get, but thats it.

Ok, off to see what my 2 are up to - because i didnt tell them to brush their teeth last night, when i said 'get ready for bed' they didnt do it, so i want to make sure they do this morning.

((HUGS)) to everyone today - Pink, hope DS is still improving.

Take care, have a lovely day xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

annie - well done to your DS!!!

    Morning All

Pen Pen - I know all about tight managers. Our one has to be forced to order toilet rolls!

Just done a very odd survey, was asked to confirm my name and was then chucked off as I didn't fit the criteria. Didn't realise my name was so offensive!!! :rotfl:

In the middle of archerfish clicks at the mo.

Nan had a fall last night which turned my tummy. She has osteoarthritis so it could've caused a lot of damage. Thankfully she didn't hurt herself, but I have no idea how I managed to lift her up again. She will insist on doing things she shouldn't.

Not many plans for today other than trying to catch up on a bit of sleep this afternoon. I've only two days left at work until a week off, so a lot to do, but have zero motivation. Mainly cos it's so blimin' freezing in here.

    Hope everyone's ok
