Item of mine sold by ex wife

No, the sale of goods act is irrelevant.Hi,
Not sure this is the correct place...
Been separated from my wife for 9 months and find out she has sold the hot tub i bought.
Never was i asked and she refuses to share the money with me.
I have proof that i bought it but shes saying it was for the family, which is try but she can't just sell it???
Should it be an open and shut case in the small claims court under the sale of goods act section 12?
Cheers
You are married, this is an asset of the marriage.0 -
What others have said, but I would just like to add that the hot tub was not 'yours' and, until you get the formalities sorted, divorce, financial settlement etc nothing in the matrimonial home will be yours.0

It's annoying.
It's yours .... but, it's "both yours", so halves.
She should've asked. she didn't
DON'T sweat the small stuff.... that's what she's expecting.
Just go "Oh well, knew the biatch would've pulled a stunt like this, should've poo'ed in the tank" and move on.0 -
oh wow, i'm not but thank you for your input
I asked a relevant question and you butted in with nonsense , is that how you get you post stats up?
If this is how the MSN community treats new comers, i'd rather go elsewhere
Admin, please close or do whatever you have to, this thread is now dead
cheers
Don't let the door catch you on the way out.0 -
That's probably been sold, too.Colin_Maybe wrote: »Don't let the door catch you on the way out.0 -

Very retro!0 -
District judge will take all of this into account when making the settlement anyway, if it's not agreed by consent.
OP needs to speak to a divorce lawyer now.
In the meantime, perhaps the OP could wind down with a long, relaxing session in the hot tub? Oh, hang on ...0 -
You should have got a chain saw and cut it in half if you want to be fair!0

Unfortunately, there's a core of members that write offensive responses and then everyone jumps on the OP for reacting.
I fear there's little you can do about the hot tub, however unreasonable that may seem. The quickest way to protect your more valuable assets is to take what you can as soon as you can. If finances get messy, then you at least have some bargaining power!0 -
Hot Tubs are a bit mad IMO of course. But leaving that aside, how did EXW get access to this piece of property to sell it anyway?0
