Hope you get some answers this afternoon sue.:)

Happy Birthday for when it comes gtq. It's good that family and friends want you to celebrate but you can be good in between.;)

Definitely enjoy your holiday but try not to be too rigid with the plan. You're only away for 3 nights so you could do a weekly syn bank this week even if you don't usually. It works for a lot of us including myself and Maman.

It certainly does denise! Get you finding ways to use syns!:D

Me, OH and the dog are off to Wales for 3 nights on Thursday for a short break in a cottage. Hoping to do lots of lovely walks but do not want to fall of the SW wagon. Am planning ahead with bringing food and thinking about what to cook. I know it is meant to be a holiday, but will be so cross with myself to use it as an excuse to eat rubbish. OH was a bit put out. Am I being unreasonable? Seems such a shame do undo our good work. Will bring treats like we have at home, I have my Mikado sticks, he has his wine, all synned  I guess being in control of what I eat has become a bit of an issue. But it works! Sorry for ramble. Off for WI later today.

Was he hoping to eat out? Is that why he's disappointed? If you're SC you can do great fry ups in the mornings. Where are you going in Wales? Will your cottage be near restaurants and cafes? :)

May I ask about skinny syrups? The Jordans one I bought tastes fine and I'm converted to using it on my porage:) but...Are all skinny syrups so thin and watery compared with normal syrup or is it just this brand?

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, fried egg, bacon, HEA ilk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese, pickled cabbage
D: cottage pie (potato and BNS mash), cauli, broccoli, sugar snaps
    Syns: none

Maman I've only tried the Jordans skinny syrups and yes they are all thin - at least the 2 I've tried. Would definitely be better if they were a bit thicker but at least they don't use up any syns!

If anyone has tried other syrups (are there any?) I'd also be pleased to know if they are thicker.

Believe it or not it's actually quite hard trying to use syns every day like this, LOL! I've got so used to using most of my syns at the weekend and damage limitation for the rest of the week I'm really struggling. Can't remember the last time I tried to make cakes (I'm not a good cake maker my cakes always used to turn out like biscuits, flat and crusty round the edges:rotfl:).

I've just made some proper hummus, complete with tahini and olive oil! It works out at 1 syn per Tbs so it's not actually that bad for syns as 2-3 Tbs with some carrot sticks is enough for a nice evening snack if I'm feeling peckish:D. I've also made a Syn Free version for tasters on Thursday morning (definitely not as nice - yoghurt definitely isn't a good substitute for tahini & olive oil, LOL).

Whoop whoop! Very pleased to report -3lbs today after WI. So happy. Obviously got the balance right the last couple of weeks of not too much fruit and reigning in the syns, not going above 5.5 syns a day.

Maman, I started planning out loud to OH about foods I was gonna buy and bring. Much the same as I do at home. I think he forgets sometimes when his dinner magically appears in front of him, I have spent time planning and shopping and cooking it!

So I have just done a big shop and that will do. It’s not like we are going to the middle of nowhere in a foreign country :D. There are supermarkets not too far from us plus a pub within walking distance. Promise to enjoy ourselves :).

Synbank is an interesting concept, will bare that in mind, thank you.

I have some sugarfree Walden Farm caramel syrup which is quite thick and a bit gloopy and very sweet. Bought it on Amazon quite a while ago and havent actually touched it for months now. Used to have it on pancakes :o. Don’t have those anymore.

Rain has dried up here. Daren’t look at the forecast for later this week, will bring lots of layers and waterproof jackets. The good news is I can zip up my jacket again :o. Had trouble before when the ends of the zip wouldn’t meet up :rotfl:.

MAMAN, try syrup from the skinny food company. They do much thicker ones. There is even a golden syrup, white chocolate or strawberry jelly ones. They also good dressings! Can recommend the sweet chilli one and I also have the mince pie one - great on a frozen yogurt or milky bar mousse.

Well done poundsinbucks that's a great loss, and a great NSV with being able to do your jacket up easily again! Thanks also for the Walden Farm syrups info. Will check that out.

Thanks MM for the syrup info from the skinny food company. Will check that out too.
