Glad you're feeling a bit better bubbs as for the non-freezer food ideas how about stir fry? I like those coz they are quick and easy to make. All day breakfast (I use veggie sausages to cut down on syns), chicken with savoury rice and mixed salad (had it last night and it's one of my faves). Most of my meals are cooked in about 30 mins or I can put in a slow cooker while I'm at work, or shove in the oven to cook if a bit longer once I'm back from work. I'm no slave to the kitchen, not got the inclination for that mallarky any longer like I used to years ago.
Meal plan today:
B - banana
L - mixed salad (mixed leaves, cucumber, sweetcorn, carrot, pickled onions), lean ham, grated cheese (hexA1) dressing (2) & 3 x multigrain ryvita (hexB)
afternoon snack - 0% total yogurt with strawberries & mango
D - Bacon, mushrooms, spring onions, linguinne with a small amount of carbonara sauce LO in the fridge (max 50g) so I'll call that (5) syns as I watered it down with water from the pasta and added garlic, black pepper and mixed herbs to give it a bit more flavour
hexA2 - milk in tea/coffee
Nothing planned for this weekend, so think it'll be a lot of household chores, and if the weather permits some gardening. Love having a free weekend to do what I like. Have a good one too everyone!
Thanks my stomach still making weird and wonderful sounds:rotfl::rotfl: but i am ok :T:T

What's filling your freezer bubbs ? Anything in there you could get out and cook like casserole steak or chicken and then put the cooked ready meals back in? Or I reckon a couple of of stews or casseroles would keep in the fridge for a few days. Can't your DH manage a fry up? Or could your sister help when she drops you off?:)0

Morning all
Glad you are feeling better, bubbs. Dinner ideas..soup, casserole? Or maybe a frittata or crustless quiche. If all else fails there is always beans, eggs, toast, omelettes...How useless is DH when it comes to cooking? :rotfl:
Weigh in this morning and I'm -2lb. So that's last week's gain sorted.
I was supposed to be taking one the of the dogs for a long walk, but I really don't have the energy, so will rope the son in to dog walking duties. Going to catch up on this thread and then do a lovely breakfast of poached eggs on toast. Have a lovely Saturday everyone!0 -

I wouldn't ask my sister as she is at work all day and has to be home for the dogs as not fair on them to be in there kennel any longer although they are very very good cause it will be tea time ish when i need picking upLioness_Twinkletoes wrote: »Morning all

They are actually 10.5 syns each! I certainly won't be buying them again but I'm not going to throw away the rest of the packet so will need to use them :money:
This made me laugh - it's hard work being both a SWer and a MSEer sometimes!
Morning all, happy weekend! Another 1lb gain for me please ChrisI just haven't been able to get my head back on after my birthday weekend and car crash mid Feb. Nothing exciting or stressful on the cards for three weeks now though so I need to sort myself out.
Well done to the losers and commiserations to gainers

Just been reading the latest mag and fancy having a go at the Giant Arancini (p61), it could make a good batch-cook packed lunch item. Wondering if it would be suitable to freeze/eat cold/reheat since it's rice? Perhaps it could be frozen at the 'patty' stage then taken out and baked the night before and eaten cold the next day? Or would that much faffing with rice make me ill? I freeze and reheat risotto with no issues but that seems more straightforward!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Tete I would think the arancini would be fine to have cold. I would think they'd be OK cooked, frozen and then defrosted for lunch when you wanted them.
Today's plan:
B - SW fry up
L - bagel (HEB + 4.5!), cream cheese (25g - 3 Syns), smoked salmon; followed by strawberries & quark
D - pork & haricot beans (from freezer); may have with some mash; fine green beans (picked up YS for 20p!)
HEA - Milk
HEB - bagel
Syns - bagel 4.5; cream cheese 3; couple of G&Ts 6
