We we’re talking about Naan bread in group, I didn’t know most store bought or restaurant homecooked Naan breads are typically 19-25 Syns per bread, even the whole meal ones. I was gob smacked.

Mine were Co-op plain Naans and they are 10.5 each. I had half of one. In the pre SW days I would easily have eaten a whole one! :rotfl:

There is no need to be hungry!!
Fruit, chips, boiled eggs, chicken drumsticks, seafood sticks, yoghurt, beans on toast, jacket potato, make a salad, soup

thanks. It was just one of those days! I make loads of homemade soups and often have hard boiled eggs ready. Gone off seafood sticks. Wouldn’t be bothered to cook anything like chips or jacket spuds apart from meal times. salad wouldn’t fill me although I would eat beans straight out of the can!

    An odd time here
DH was admitted to hospital yesterday morning, having retained even more fluid, got v breathless and his heart rate had not improved at all.
Spent most of yesterday on a trolley in the Assessment unit ,being visited and treated by the cardiologist.they finally found a bed on a ward but he's turned into a geriatric
They are treating him but it is chaotic, went intoday and finally found someone to help wash him get him out of bed and set up the new pressure mattress (helpfully rolled up on the floor beside his bed )and get in on the bed ,which I then made up !This was at 2pm.
Good job I used to be a nurse ,tomorrow I start asking awkward questions ,like what cardiology input ,why is he not being transferred ,how are they going to preserve his nearly shot mobility etc etc .
The nursing assistants are v kind ,but I'm ashamed to say the qualified staff seem only to walk around looking important but doing little
Just come home and eaten SW chicken risotto ,not too bad ,

Congratulations to all and thanks for the chart Chris

    Thinking of you suffolksue xxx

I had a very hungry day, which meant 2 portions of tea last night and using up my 15 syns. Not sure what caused it but just went with the flow.

My manager at work keeps mentioning getting food in! Yesterday it was 'shall we get Chinese food for lunch one day'. Then later (because we have a meeting today) 'shall we order lunch in for the meeting'

    ...sigh..

I kept quiet. I've not told anyone I'm doing sw. Mainly because everyone feels the need to comment on your food, your weight..blah, blah, blah. Some people are encouraging. Others not so much.

    Today's food:
    B: overnight oats (HEB)
L: beefy mince, pot, broc (1 syn for cornflour)
T: keema curry, rice & salad

I'll be putting extra veg in the curry. I find most recipes just don't have enough.

Milk for drinks (HEA) and probably fruit, yog and maybe a hi-fi bar for snacks.

    Morning All
Thank you for the chart Chris I'm about to ruin my little loss with a gain +1lb I know exactly why, I let myself go to pot over the weekend. So I know what I have to do this week.

B porridge (hexb) mixed berries, milk (1) tsp maple syrup (1/2)
No lunch today as I'm working overtime so through till 3 no break probably a banana on the train home.
D making the Nasi Goreng from the pon book, dd chose it, shall see how authentic it is as the dish is from my Mums neck of the wood so I've eaten the real thing many times, we'll give it ago.

So sorry to hear about your dh Sue sending hugs xx

  • Hey everyone, been MIA, work has been insanely busy.

So last week (Sat 30th March) was +2lb. I kind of expected it. Since then, I've been bang on plan and have been measuring/weighing everything so hopefully the scales will be kinder this week.

Loads to catch up on, but that'll have to wait till tonight.

Sorry to see some small gains but it happens.:( What matters is that you've recognised why, you're posting and getting back on plan.:)

No worries about eating loads Frankie as long as it's on plan. Personally I don't hold with the 'fill your boots' on free food that some consultants parrot. I think it's important to keep to a third+ speed across the day whatever you're eating. You're right that normal recipes don't have enough veg in them. I always add loads as it's not just SW friendly but healthy and mse.:money:

Not sure about today. I've had my smallest SW breakfast (Weetabix) because we're off out to lunch and usually have 2 or more courses. I'm about to look at the menu but I suspect it'll be standard pub fare. Will report back later.

Have a good day all. Don't comfort eat (unless SW friendly of course) to compensate for the change in the weather.;)

    Afternoon,

Suffolksue I'm really sorry to hear DH is in hospital, and even more sorry to hear that it's a bit of a shambles in there. Thank goodness you have your experience as a nurse to ask the right awkward questions, and know what treatment/care DH should have. I wouldn't have a clue! Hoping he improves and is back home with you again very soon.

Yesterday I made an error in my plan. I had porridge for breakfast, and then had Ryvita for lunch, one of which needed to be synned. Suddenly realised as I was lying in bed last night, obviously thinking about food ;)

    Today's plan:
    B - banana, M&S fat free rhubarb yogurt 0.5
    L - mixed salad with ham and cheese HEA1, dressing (2), 3 x multigrain Ryvita HEB & spread (2)
D - chicken with SW chips & mixed salad. Dressing (2)
    HEA2 - milk in tea/coffee

I'm off to clubbercise again tonight, so will probably have my dinner after I get back, as I doubt eating before it would be advisable! I may have a piece of fruit beforehand just to tide me over if I feel like it.

Last night I put son's room back together, put the new bedding on, and it looks really lovely. All that's missing now is him! He will need to organise himself to get his stuff moved back, but it will no doubt be in the next few days now :D

I hope your meal out was enjoyable maman

Ooh, and I thought of you all yesterday when I was shopping; I was pushing my trolley laden with SW friendly fare around Sainsos, and was on a quest for xantham gum (none to be found, although I know they used to stock it, but think the in-house argos that's filled a corner has limited stock instore) when I spotted hot cross buns reduced to 40p for 6. The urge to put them in the trolley was SO strong, but I had seen a nice figure on the scales that morning with my -2lb loss, and I thought I'd rather see that than eat one of my all time fave foods. Honestly I could easily polish off all 6 of the beggars in one sitting given half a chance.... so just as well I didn't give myself the chance, eh? :o
