You might find you get better losses if you use your Syns - I know it sounds daft but it seems to work! Also not having any bread, biscuits, cake, sweets, chocolate isn't really sustainable. As I've said before SW needs to fit around your life not the other way round.
Having said that you may be like me and not lose more than 0.5 or 1lb a week - with the odd week of losing 1.5lb! But I still got to target about 7 years ago and am still there or thereabouts most of the time!

Well my WI showed a 5.5lb loss this week that I’m pleased with. Currently doing a meal plan and waiting for hubby to take me food shopping.
Wow! Just Wow!:D:Tlost another pound this week. 1st 2 lbs gone now. I would like it to be faster and bigger but I guess thats just me! 1st 2lbs is not to be sniffed at.:T I got to target in just under a year on an average of 1.5lbs a week and come August I'll have been at target for 8 years. Some weeks I had good losses, others I had none. Sometimes I knew the reason why other weeks I'd been angelic and lost nothing at all. We're all different. Denise is right. The syns are part of the plan to make it sustainable long term. Provided you stay within the maximum, you should have them, 5 a day is the absolute minimum recommended.Do many of you use Facebook groups for ideas and things? I’m a member of a few but all anyone seems to be posting about is the PON book at the minute. Even on the none PON groups. A fair bit of hate for it too.
I don't do facebook, although my group does have a thriving page. I just happened to see the PON book on a TV programme. I've occasionally looked up their recipes online and they aren't bad but I get fed up scrolling through all the advertising.:(
I've only just finished my lunch as I was out doing my food shop as I didn't get round to it yesterday. All set up for the week now and it's looking as if I should be able to stay on plan.:)0 -
Meal plan done and groceries bought.
I'm making the enchilada lasagne from the pon site tonight for tea, here's hoping it's as yummy as I'm hoping!
I made myself a jp filling today for lunch with cottage cheese, diced onion and cheddar cheese. I used to do something similar with mayo but swapped it out with the cottage cheese to make it sw friendly and it was lovely. I'm glad I haven't had to lose that meal!
I had my heart set on a curry maman which is why I bought the slimming world meals, I didn't have any made curry made in the freezer and I'd decided I was using some mini pitta breads as some kind of garlic naan ( they didn't really work so not worth planning my meal around. lol)
I always have meals in the freezer because I really don't like cooking. This week of cooking is a complete anomaly and I don't imagine it happening often!0 -
Afternoon all, glad I wi this morning as already had :bdaycake: which my son bought me including candles to blow out (didn’t eat those though
). Off out for meal soon, probably not sw friendly but we all know food on Birthdays have no syns right?

Happy Birthday tie . You're right that birthdays don't count as syns. Or should that be syns don't count on birthdays.:D Have a lovely evening with your family. :A
Frankie, I haven’t fancied a curry since we got back from India.
I enjoy cooking but I almost always do my batch cooking at weekends. I like to listen to the radio but I couldn't just sit and listen so I potter about in the kitchen instead. Today I've prepped tonight's dinner and at the same time I've made a big pot of swede and carrot mash: a portion for tomorrow and the rest for the freezer.0 -
I'm like you Maman. I like to batch cook from time to time and freeze portions. Most of what I batch cook are soups as they are really handy for lunches. I also batch cook jacket potatoes from time to time. I could really do with doing some more soon but the bag of potatoes I bought this week only has a couple of decent sized potatoes and I object to paying extra for "baking potatoes"!
