    Evening all,

Well done to the losers, and to those staying on plan but not seeing results yet, it'll come so hang onn in there.

Did a bit of prep work for a room we are in the middle of decorating. There's still far too much to do in way of prep. The painting will only take a day or so at this rate, and really need OH's help, but he's still poorly with his heavy cold. Got a brief bit of time in the garden, but it's been mainly showers and strong winds here today, so a case of battening down the hatches and staying inside.

Food wasn't so bad for a weekend:
    B - porridge HEB
    L - bacon, eggs & mushrooms. Ketchup (2) 1 slice WM bread (6.5)
snack - kvarg passion fruit quark - (1.5), banana
    D - SW meatballs & pasta. Cheese HEA1
    Milk in tea/coffee HEA2

Have had what I'd call a 'hungry' day today. Think I'm tired, which doesn't help, but resisting the urge to eat a packet of crisps (it'd never stop at one packet if I did).
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

    I'm a loser :(
I put on 400g, so about a pound.

No surprises if I'm honest - diet hasn't been good this week. Breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs on wholewheat toast in Wetherspoons.

Lunchtime I might have a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich.

Tonight, I have a small vegan pizza cooked yesterday and I shall have four baby boiled potatoes and a bit of salad with it.

Maybe an alcohol free beer tonight if I feel like it.

My Fitness Pal estimates the above lot at around 1500 Kcal.

D roast beef potatoes and lots of veg.

    Enjoy your Sunday x

Morning all, phew, first week in new job has been kicking me up the bum. I've had something on every evening as well which has been knackering. This week should be a bit calmer. Good news is the job seems interesting and my colleagues seem lovely so fingers crossed I'll enjoy it.

Chris - thanks so much for setting up the challenge and chart again! I think I'll aim for 10lbs again this time, but reporting in with a STS for last week (third in a row!) - this is fair as I was super on-plan during the day but my exhausted evening scoffing left a bit to be desired.

Today I need to do a quick freezer inventory and a shop, but hoping for some much needed R&R before getting back to the grindstone again tomorrow.

Exercise-wise, I completed my C25K yesterday! And did my fastest parkrun since last April, and that included five minutes walking for the warm up - chuffed with that!

Hope everyone is well, not sure how well I'll be able to keep up during the week now but I will check in with my WI each weekend :)

As expected my weekend so far has been full of wine, birthday cake, beer (and a cheeky McDonalds) I've written everything down and synned it all, because this is life and this is a way of eating and not a diet for me.

But there are no syns left now...lol

That's the right way to look at it Frankie. SW isn't a diet. It's a healthy, sustainable eating plan. There will always be events like birthdays and holidays where we'll have more treats (aka syns) but what matters is that when they're over we get back to the healthy eating. Well done on keeping a count of the syns. That's not easy.:)

I think you must have joined the thread when I was on holiday sleazy so apologies if I've not understood your situation. As you've weighed in on a Sunday, I'm assuming you're either doing the plan on your own or online. Looking at your menu, you seem to be having toast, pizza and a toasted sandwich today. Even without the cheese, that's an awful lot of syns. Are you counting them? Have you done SW before or are you new to it? Do ask if there's anything you want to know.:)

I must try to get to a WI this week but timing couldn't be worse as it's my birthday on Tuesday and I'll be eating out at least 3 times this week. So unless (and it's extremely unlikely) I'm in target range then the grace week won't be on plan enough to get me back. I'm going to be philosophical about it. If I end up paying then my consultant deserves a few pounds from me.:)

I'm out at a dance this afternoon and everyone takes some finger food. Being lazy, I'm going to call into Sainsbury's on the way and buy a bag of melon slices. Hopefully I won't be the only one taking healthy stuff so I'm going to try and avoid the cakes and sandwiches, drink plenty of tea and then fill up when I get home.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, fried eggs, bacon, HEA milk for drinks
    L: melon and ???
D: roast beef, roast potatoes and carrots, cauli, broccoli, kale, swede and celeriac
Syns: HM gravy 4?, weekend wine and anything I can't avoid at teatime.;)

Well, what a disappointment. Gained half a pound! the hardest thing in the world is when you KNOW you have stuck to plan but gained weight.

It wasn’t helped by the lady I walked in with who thought she might have gained half a STONE as she had made really bad choices all week. She then listed things like Vienetta, pasties, fish and chips, convenience food etc. She LOST 4.5 lbs!!!

I felt sure I had lost at least a pound but I gained!! Earlier in the week I posted how I had not given in to cravings and was so pleased with myself and then this happens! :(

I absolutely feel your pain and can so, so empathise with you. That was me, couple of weeks ago. I'd been bang on plan, felt deprived and miserable. Said no to cakes, cookies, chips and wine. Ate loads of speed and went to the gym three times. Gained a whopping 4lb. I actually cried, I was so upset. BUT I carried on, went to the gym and this week lost that 4lb plus another half. AND let me tell you, I am NOWHERE near target. So far from it.

We all lose weight differently. My son, who is also doing SW, loses 2lb every single week, regular as clockwork. I tend to lose big, then lose nothing - or gain - and then lose again. Just keep on going and you will get there. Weight loss is not linear and everyone's journey is the different. You WILL get there if you just stick to the plan.

  • Hi guys, just reading some the comments, and I've noticed some feel pressure on themselves to do better and feel guilt for eating SW unfriendly foods.

There is no such thing as a SW unfriendly food just remember were all human here, and no one is 100% perfect following to plan 365 days a year, Just remember to be on plan when you can or try and swap to lower syn alternatives if they are available, if not, do not sow your mouth shut, and deprive yourself, I remember being at a wedding reception, in my first attempt at SW, and there was not a salad in sight at the buffet, it was all sauces, sausages, BBQ chickens, BBQ Beef, even a spit roast pig, I was so tempted, and told myself, to be polite to myself and not stand out, I'll save my syns for booze, and I went across the road to the kebab shop and bought 4 large salad boxes and sat and 2 and wife had 2, we tore off the chicken skin on the roasted chicken legs and had a chicken salad, No one cared, no one noticed, we had cake to come home with, and a large trifle, and I pigged out the next day feeling sorry for myself with a hang over, I put on 2 1/2 a lb that weekend but I felt I did ok because I stayed on plan when I could given it was a special occasion.
When your in the moment and it tastes so good and your on your 4th big cake slice that's ok too, that's fine, there is no need to feel guilty, it is what is and it tasted fabulous and good on you tasted great and when your ready you can back to plan and sometimes eating something that is high in syn value once in a strawberry blue Harvest moon while helps boost the metabolism, don't feel guilty to yourself or to your group or others for eating something you wanted to eat.
I know it is hard to "reset" and get back to following plan once you have a taste for high value syns, but remember you were able to detox yourself at the start, you will be able to detox yourself now, and some people have had success in getting a stay the same or little increases by offsetting the high syns of 1 days and not eating syns for a day or two and increasing speed food intake from your normal intake.

WI Monday 7PM for me, I WI this Thursday so im not expecting much if anything ive probably put on as I didn't have a very good week last week, and having a loss this week made me think that it didn't get distributed by my body properly so I'm prepared and peace with an increase this Monday and I'm on plan this week and marching forward.

Happy Sunday all and well done.
