3. In many cases mould in a property is lifestyle related, please google and read up on the causes before consulting your LL.
Is that going to be a set answer because I'll get myself banned because I'm blue in the face from telling you lot it is almost always a problem with the fabric of the building?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

So far with the few cases where I've been involved as a LL its been because the tenant dries their washing in an unvented room and hasn't even realised there are trickle vents on the windows let alone a handle to open the window with.
But you know what Doozer you're one of the ones that knows her stuff when it comes to all things building related so I'll concede there could be two answers to that question!in S 38 T 2 F 50

It is frustrating when genuinely useful/helpful posters get banned/knuckles rapped. We recently lost a very knowledgeable poster in the employment boards, yet trolls/unhelpful posters are allowed to continue. The area of the site I used to frequent the most, which I dare say was the busiest thread on MSE was recently closed down without any reason given, so after a few attempts to restart it, we have all had to migrate to a different home and set our own forum up. At the end of the day, it will have been MSE that lost out, as a lot of our money saving finds were shared in the MSE email, but they have lost that resource now since we moved sites.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Depends, you get a lot of people saying " I bought in the 90`s, it was the best move ever" etc. and aiming this advice at people now, in the biggest (bursting) property price bubble in history. It is classic Elephant in the Room stuff, sensible people should be able to deduce that the lowest possible property prices are good for working people and the real economy, but people discuss just about anything (photos/decor/location/how the photos are lit/the "useless" EA etc. etc.) for pages and pages, rather than just state the obvious - it needs a lot knocked off the price.0 -
I chuckled at no. 9.., poor Artful lolol
I liked Pixie's posts generally, have received a lot of help from her myself when posting and also appreciated her knowledge of Scottish legal situations as you'd look at the relevant OPs and just hope there was someone around that could help.
I must admit I don't post on here as much, had a couple of warnings myself. I still read the site, but I don't post much. Sometimes when there are streams of negative replies, with almost deliberate misunderstandings so a reply can make a certain point - its a bit offputting.
I think I will take a look at Reddit lolol.0 -
It's because new posters are unaware of the search facility or don't read the stickies
or don't want to do simple research for themselves
I do like number 8 though, made me chuckle, some OP's really do not like being told it's the price
Neither do a hard core of long time posters, it is almost a standing joke on some other forums now.0 -

Odd, virtually all the advice I see on those threads ends up with price. Doesn't mean we're agreeing with your biggest bubble theory (how big does a bubble get until it is no longer a bubble?)
And noone starts a thread 'hey I've sold my house for lots of money' so we only see the properties that appear overpriced. How many threads on not selling do you see on an average month? Compare that with how many houses sell a month...
And I actually agree, a drop in prices could be a good thing...but if that happens, guess what, people will buy, demand will outstrip supply...the price will...go back up! Though you won't have bought because its another bubble and all going to crash. For def. This year. Or next.
Apologies for thread hijack!0 -

With the amount of over-building there has been, the end of FOM and BTL going off the boil I think that scenario is highly unlikely TBH, it is wishful thinking for people who need/want high prices.0 -

"Estimates have put the number of new homes needed in England at between 240,000 and 340,000 per year, accounting for new household formation and a backlog of existing need for suitable housing. In 2017/18, the total housing stock in England increased by around 222,000 homes. This was 2% higher than the year before – and the amount of new homes supplied annually has been growing for several years – but is still lower than estimated need. " 12 December 2018
