What a crazy decision when certain posters with a vested interest in house prices remaining high and rising get to stay.

Wow, had no idea that certain posters on here have the power to keep house prices high. I'm shocked! Ban them immediately!

As for "car crash", I've yet to see them post a single helpful or construction piece of advice on here. Their posts are tedious, predictable and largely ignored.

Don't quite understand - read this thread yesterday evening and Pixie then and now still seems to be a viable member? No PPR by their name or any other indication they are barred from posting? Have I misunderstood?
As I said in post 1:

Pixie has also now had her knuckles rapped by the thought police and decided their lack of appreciation of her contributions outweighs any feel-good benefit she gets from the forumites she does help.
It was carefully, and accurately, worded.........

Ah, she got a stern warning and decided not to bother anymore. Fair enough, can't say I blame her.

If you want the thread you've started to get traction (and it will not make a jot of difference) then you need to link to it in this post.

If the moderators keep banning people who contribute, perhaps the moderators might want to chip in themselves than be trigger happy.

I have previously successfully appealed against a red card, it didn't make sense why I got it and when I explained that back to MSE FT it was removed.

She should appeal against the warning/infraction, they might reverse it.

    .

Posters on here don't have the power to keep house prices high.... just some of them think they do.

So they'll generally urge people to take on record levels of mortgage debt, encourage people to buy at any cost, advise people to disregard mortgage down valuations and ''find some way to make up the shortfall'', belittle people who dare to suggest that a particular property (or the market in general) is overpriced and poor value etc etc

All under the guise of offering ''impartial'' advice.

So true, but getting harder for the Price Police to keep the main board clear of reality based threads now though. The "Hold out for your price/Try to make up the shortfall" type advice is pretty tedious, as is the advice that is often trotted out about the house not selling due to photos/EA/Decor etc. etc. not being good enough.

Could you point out a few instances where people have claimed their advice was impartial? This is an advice forum contributed to by (mostly) non-professionals, so people's advice is generally based on their own experiences and subjective opinions. Anyone expecting more from a forum like this should not be allowed on the internet unsupervised.

It is ridiculous - the mods claim they don't have time to read everything but hand out yellow cards and bans with impunity. I think they have a duty to make sure they are making the right decision but they don't so....I spend more time on Reddit these days. Much more robust, decent mods and less snowflakes make for more honest commenting and interesting debates.

Hmmm I don't have any idea why pixie been sanctioned, but I too spend more time elsewhere now. Certain things must never be mentioned at all. (Despite even Martina navratilova weighing in on the issue)
And this stuff is very important to half the population. So apart from a quick look at competitions every other day and a very quick whizz through the rest, I stay away.
Mods manage fine on every other forum I visit.
