There was a list of courts provided by Bargepole earlier this week indicating whether they were open or closed, staffed or not.  Here is a link to the thread it was on: -

    beamerguy,
Thanks for the example letter, I will include in my reply to BWl when I receive their reply to my SAR.
Only issue with the letter is reference to PoFA, they state on the PCN that they are not using PoFA at the airport.

Understand but POFA is just one point.  You have the ruling of the Supreme Court regarding the ticket price includes collection fees.  Then there is the Court's own ruling about double recovery and the S71(2) of the Consumer Rights Act 2015

Adapt the letter accordingly ...... there is really no wriggle room for BWL

I suspect the WhatsApp group is either disbanded or not taking any new members

I asked to join the WhatsApp group months ago but it was explained that it was for people with current cases. I see the point of WhatsApp and it's particular relevance to current cases. My point, hoever, is that to make progress with this issue we need to develop a way of stopping cases before they reach the courts. Many people pay this money because they can't be bothered or are unwilling to expend time fighting. A position I am tempted to endorse and might were it not for my stubborn streak which resist bullying.

I recognise there is already a great deal of excellent advice on how to proceed but this type of forum is perhaps not the ideal way of disseminating it. I sit down from time to time with the intention of reading everything, look at the number of pages - 52 and give up. With the luxury of the current hiatus could we perhaps find a way of creating a resource which walks people through the process simply but copes with the variations in the type of defense which are relevant?

Thanks to whoever posted the list of operating courts. Have I interpreted it correctly that it is the Newcastle Civil court which has jurisdiction and that is a staffed court? If so, does that mean they are conducting cases by telephone or video link and is it the choice of the court or the appellant or the defendant to use this method? It would also be intersting to read comments from the experienced members of this group on whether electronic, written or personal appearance has advantages or otherwise in this type of case?

I've found part of the answer myself:
"small claims and fast track trials where the parties agree that it is urgent."
Is it reasonable to interpret from that statement that I must agree to "urgent" treatment? Is it also reasonable to interpret that the ever growing number of new cases (clearly not parking related) means the "urgent" definition is unlikely to be relaxed for months.
