Could it also be something the news-starved media may find interesting as an inappropriate use of reference to the present crisis to extract money from people who they are harassing?
The Daily Mail like giving these scammers a kicking. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
Had a phone call from BWlg last week asking for security info, told them to go jump. Received a letter from them yesterday reference a PPN from 2015. Last contact was zzp debt collectors 2.5 years ago. They must be raking through a old list.1

Sadly, I suspect the great British public are being spooked into emailing or ringing up. Shedloads of victims who are stuck at home will have picked their phones up, even if they refuse to pay, and thus confirmed their home address is live.PRIVATE 'PCN'? May 2015.
No information given to them on first call. Sent SAR to them and stated no more calls to be made. Have prepared a letter based on this thread after getting SAR info back. On Contract and £60 abuse of process.
My court would be Newcastle CC

BWLegal are now sending out nonsensical rubbish and with regards to unsolicited phone calls asking security questions, you simply ask them what is their user name and password ?
But, BWLegal have dug yet another hole for themselves ....... the signage that applies to these older tickets will NOT have anything in the terms they refer to for the FAKE £60. The BPA and IPC had not told the scammers they could add debt collector charges etc as they do now. Now, the BPA/IPC are telling PPC's to break the law.
THE LEGALS CAN ONLY TRY on the time and date the ticket was issued. Therefore, in my opinion all attempts to add the fake £60 to these old claims would be an attempt of fraud.
Has the OP sent the letter as seen here
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6129744/bwlegal-the-scam/p1?new=1
The OP should consider the letter like this ...... if the OP was to add an unlawful amount like the £60 well knowing that the courts call this abuse of process, how would the OP answer ??

Does anyone know whether Newcastle are trying cases like this by video link or if they have indicated when they will resume normal business (I assume not before the lock-down is over).0
